TurboTech: Boost leak testing and you.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3Kqh...79160CDC152E38

Lots of folks ignore or aren't aware of just how important a regular boost leak test can be on your turbocharged car. This simple tool and testing can keep your car running happy and provide a great deal of diagnosis information when used correctly. I found this vid a long time ago after having created a BLT apparatus from scratch via some ancient online instructions, but my man Jaffro went ahead and put together this great little vid segment that covers construction, use, and lots of little other tidbits and tricks you may find useful. Building the tool yourself (about $30 and an hour of your time) can save you lots of money and headaches.

Enjoy

Boost leak testing is the cheapest way to get basically free power and ensure your running efficiently. The tester doesn't need to be complicated.

Here's mine. Just a PVC cap from homedepot, truck tire valve (screw in type that has a nut to hold it in place) from napa and an air pressure valve bought off amazon. You can probably get everything at one store. Drill your holes small enough that you can just screw in the valves, though the tire valve has the nut on the outside to hold it in place.

All I use is a pvc cap and attach an air hose fitting. Set your regulator down to whatever psi you want to run and attach your air hose. Self regulating and simple if you have your own compressor.

The gauge on the tester really is nice though. Allows for easier monitoring IMO. Thanks for contributing to the thread guys!
