Don't worry about the engine being hot. It helps when setting up the valves.

This was my baby from back in the day. Several thousand gallons of OPEC's finest passed thru those fuel lines. Crappy scanned pics.

Dropped 3"F and 4" rear. Stock Chebbie van rally wheels. I always hated the teal color, but it was paint.

Interior. This truck is the only project vehicle of mine to date to have a nice steering wheel. The steering wheel is also the only gift that Pam has ever purchased for me for a project. I sold the truck one month after that. I will never hear the end of that.

Damn that bench seat was nice.

The mighty 402. Loved that engine. Total budget build. $200 disassembled engine. $1000 in machine work and assembly, and another $1000 into ancillaries. Ran it's aZZ off.

You NEED a big block in your truck......

I miss this truck. If I ever see it again, I will buy it back and restore it. This is why I want to turn some wrenches on yours.

nice looking truck mike. I can't wait for mine to be as clean.

You can turn the wrench on my truck any time, just make sure I'm learning something along the way

And I agree about the big block. I think the truck would look killer with some 454 decals ;)

As far as the drop on my truck, I don't think it would get any lower with the kit I'm looking at. As far as I know the truck already has part of the kit on there... but it wouldn't be a bad thing to get some new shocks and springs on the truck.

http://www.brotherstrucks.com/prodin...umber=TRACKARM I assume you mean this? would I need one or two? These would replace those shoddy riveted pieces you were talking about Tuesday night, correct?

These are the rear trailing arms that I was talking about. Nothing more than two pieces of C-channel riveted together back to back.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1968-...spagenameZWDVW

Usually what happen to them...rust forms between the two channels and pushes the rivets through, and they bow apart in the center. Then where the axle mounts up, the arms will fatigue and crack with very bad results I will remedy the trailing arm problem for you when it is time to tackle the rear suspension.

You WILL need these when it comes time to build up the trailing arms.

There was a '72 Blazer rotting away in Kitnersville with factory buckets and console, I believe they were the factory Pearl color toooo. I might have to investigate that if you are interested.

if its not to much trouble to get pics of the buckets and console that'd be great. While the maxima seats are comfy, I'd prefer something a little more old school

if this was two weeks from now I'd be all over them...

Right in my price range for a quick pick up. I'll ask my parents if I can use their garage to store an engine till I can get it to a shop to get clean up and rebuilt...

Let's see how my account looks after I pay some bills from this paycheck. Maybe that first one will take $600 cash. might be able to offer that.

edit: sent the first one an email offering $500. We'll see what happens... and my mom one asking for a little bit of garage space...

will the 454 bolt up to the same mounting points as the 350?

Wanna do the swap at your place? lol. I'll chain the 454 to the bed of the truck and haul it over lol

It will bolt right in place. We can do the swap here once I get the Jeep to a point where I can keep it outside. Probably sometime in mid-June or later.

by then I'd easily have the money to send the engine to a shop to be rebuilt and upgraded, and have the rest of the truck ready for the engine... ie: suspension and brakes done

suhweeet.

Mom is letting me use garage space for this project.

I just need to help them clean out the garage. I intend on building the engine myself, good learning experience. Now I just need to pick up an engine stand and hoist and the various tools, clean out the garage, and find a good, cheap, 454 and I'm in business.
