okay so i took the gamble of buying a wrx swapped 2001 2.5rs. i havent been able to get it to start. The car went from no lights turning on nothing and i managed to get it to get lights on and motor cranking. i seem to be getting no gas. Anyone near Allentown,Pa know enough about subaru's to give me a hand will pay if necessary. Im only 18 and this is my favorite car thats why took the risk the less i have to pay the better just want this beast on the road already!!

Check the fuel lines from the filter to the rails. If they are backwards it's no start.

3 things to check.
1 Fuel pressure. -It could be a faulty fuel regulator
2. Fuel pump. -It's not pumping the correct psi to the whole system.
3, Fuel Filter. - It could be clog.

I agree with Kiper, but I'd change the order. Turn the key to the ACC position, which is the one before the car will begin to crank and listen for the pump to turn on. From the images on Google, it would appear that popping the back seat out will aid you in being able to hear the pump priming due to its location in proximity.
If the pump turns on, good. Fuel filter never hurts to change if you've no record of it being done, but fuel pressure may be tough to measure yourself.

What was the condition of the car when you bought it that it didn't run at all? Was the battery just dead? The more details you give us, the better we'll be able to help you.
