I am very experienced in this situation. This is what you have to do. Plead not guilty to the ticket. A few days before you go to court go and get your DE license. If they dont ask if you moved or got a DE license, dont tell them! What will happen is the court will send the info to NJ DMV. Which is 2 points, not 3 which was stated earlier. Even if your NJ license gets suspended, which it shouldn't, you will still have your DE. Also usually NDR (national drivers record) will not catch anything and you will have no points on your DE license at all.

But, most important is GET A LAWYER!!!! The judge will take you much more seriously

i didn't feel like reading everything else but here's my expericenxe.

i got pulled over doing 75 in a 25. cop was infuriated, but was nice enough not to handcuff me on the spot. you too are lucky you did not get arrested to begin with.

anyway, i got a lawyer (400 bucks) and took a defensive driving course and had the speed dropped from 75 in a 25 to 35 in a 25 (2 point ticket) plus a two week suspension. shoulda been a 5 pt ticket and 6 month loss of license or something like that. my advice, get a lawyer and take the defensive driving course thing.

Update:

No lawyer just went to court and talked to the cop.

Results: dropped fro 88 in a 35 to 45 in a 35.
30 dollar fine
40 dollar court costs

Some people say I was lucky. I call it... well, luck i guess

Wow...the cop and prosecutor must have both been in a generous mood.

I don't know if locals are equipped with radar in Delaware or not. In PA...the only cops with radar are the staties...I think the same stands for dirty jerz.
