Residential windows are usually double pane...with a seal between the 2 and an invisible gas between the 2 pieces and seal. When the tint is installed, automotive film absorbs so much more heat...too much for the seal to take, and it brakes the seal, allowing the gas to escape and thus makeing the window go foggy. Everyonce in a while, depending on how much sun exposure, the extereme heat can create phisical damage to the glass inself...like a crack...but the broken seal is much more common with automotive film on residential, commercial double/tripple pane glass.
But yea, you definately are better off buying film from home depot if your installing it. LLumar is one of the most expensive films on the market, and you get no warranty either unless installed by us. Just food for thought... Ryan
