That's fine the put a banner on it or drop the kids off and park it else where I don't see what the big deal is there...

I edited my post before you posted this I realize incentive is a big in so I said some TST pistons or something if you donate more but drive your minivan so you can bring the kids... Still incentives just saves a bit of space for better cars. Though I will say the fact that it's going to a great organization like MAW should be incentive enough like I said in my last post everyone keeps saying "I gave more" I gave $10 (all I had on me cash wise) it's a charity you should feel good enough doing that not need a special spot to feel justified.

I know it's a meet not a car show but when you do VIP parking set it up like a car show and put vendors in there none the less, you're kind of blurring the line between "meet" and "car show" and as long as they do that they will get people like me and many others who think it sacked having to find the diamonds in a see of every day cars...

TST really needs to start banning people from the forum and events. Some of the comments I am reading are just so dumb I cannot even see how they are trying to justify what they have said.

Find a larger parking lot. Multiple entrances, multiple money takers, one entry fee, it's that easy.

No food at the location? That's fine. It appears that the attendees aren't responsible enough to find a trash can, so the inverse should be that the responsible owners will have the wits to bring food.

I guess I yearn for the good old days when this was an "unofficial" meet and it was way more organized.

I learned a long time ago, "If you don't get your expectations high, you won't be let down with the results".
I 100% Agree. Having staff say don't do that isn't enough.

I see VIP cars as gt-r's, supras, clean sti's and evos etc.. not stanced out hondas on stock wheels with paint peeling off..

also we ended up leaving early and telling friends not to even show up, fix some of it and it would be a good meet.
You 100% missed the point of VIP Parking. Grimm nailed it with his post. People pay extra and it goes to a good cause, in return they get guarnteed parking, better parking and raffle tickets. If you don't like it, don't come. Simple as that.

Like I said they are treating it like a car show people will respond like it's a car show. Heck if you asked half the people there or anyone driving/walking by they would call it a CAR SHOW! I understand VIP parking, people need incentive, but incentive can be had many different ways... I dont think my idea of 3 different parking areas or sections is that terrible. And if a VIP leaves people can donate more to move up and take their place. But other incentives like stickers/shirts etc will solve people's need to get instant gratification for their CHARITABLE DONATION. Yes these extra incentives would cost money but the $5/$15-15/$25 MINIMUM would break that price issue up pretty quickly.

I don't mind donating $25 regardless, its a great cause and a great time. My secondary motivation was the parking, knowing I'd get there and there would be a spot for me. The raffle is a nice touch, but I think money could be saved without it.

I think your constructive ideas are good. But like everything else they also present other problems. Having different parking areas is a great idea, facilitating that is not easy. People are already complaining about parking wait times, add in a subjective decision for each car to be parked in a certain area adds time and confusion to the entrance process delaying it even more. then people will complain that they can't park near their friends because they were placed in different categories. There are lots of scenarios that could make that plan troublesome.

Other incentives that are physical such as stickers, shirts, hats, etc etc cost money up front. It's not easy to come up with all that cash to be able to front the production costs for these things. I'm sure they would love to have more things to be able to sell or even giveaway but coming up with the money for that is tough.

My suggegstion to fix the parking issue would most likely cost substantially more but would be more than accomidating is the massive lots of Hershey (near the park).

I understand its a good cause. You can donate however much you want. Don't call it VIP parking and have it setup like a car show. Like the guy above me stated there are OTHER ways to use as in incentive to get people to give more.

I understand the cost issue, what should be done is use **some** of this year's money to fund these ideas of or next year. Or drum up sponsors (not all just car companies either) charge a fee for vendors (which I think they do.) To be honest when I get home I'm going to write this all up and get in contact with TROLL and others in charge of this and try to get myself involved a d work through some new ideas. Hersey is a GREAT idea that place is F'ing HUGE!!!

As for people complain they car park with friends, you ride down with say 4 cars that are nice and the minivan for the kids/supplies/food how hard is it to meet up after you park with your friends bring the chairs and cooler and call it a day...? Deciding where to park cars is pretty easy it would not slow down the process much if at all (especially if they get a venue with multiple entrances or multi lane entrance) Hershey would work great for this especially. And if someone wants to fight the greeters decision they can leave, no refund.

I don't know of for sure but I can't say that I think it would be too hard to get Hershey's involvement/sponsorship etc. I could be wrong but I don't know. If not I know the Reading Airport does that kind of stuff and they have a lot of room (all be it its mostly grass.) I just think there HAS to be a better way to do this.

I dont under stand how all of you cant seem to grasp that is is not a car show, and that VIP Parking is only a payed allotment to get a better parking spot. If it was a car show there be trophy's and judging and the Spectator Parking ( if it were judged ) would not be disgustingly close along with a speedy double pull in.

The 2 Chrysler Mini Vans were actually Make a Wish Guests of the show who were more then likely going to receive the majority of the money if not all of it.

No one understand the amount of time it takes the 3 head guys along with all the other support staff to pull this off. I myself had well over 40 hours of time invested in this years meet, and about that much for last years meet.

Better larger location boils down to money lost to rent that TsT cant give to Make a Wish. Anything larger then were it is now goes to well over $10K for the day and sometimes your have to float the bill for the locations support staff witch can be 25-50 people for 6-8 hours. Insurance is the next big cost of the meet. YES we actually have to get insurance to cover the idiots who are breaking the rules at the meet. Im not 100% sure on the cost of that but its over $500 for the day and we cant rent the park with out it.

The vans should have had banners on them, make a wish does a truck parade though my town on mothers day, every one of those vehicles has a banner of some sort. Do that to the vans and people remember what they are there for, not hard. Heck you could station people there with
the banners and may even get more donations. Like I said it may be "meet" but it is treated and thought of by most as a car show, and maybe it should actually become one that could help. This meet/car show argument is redundant, no matter what you call it people were there to look at cars and this was not something that could easily be done this year, it was a chore to see the nice car amongst a flood to family rides.

I understand cost and I know that plays a huge factor, I don't understand tax law all that much but I know a company can write off donating a vehicle, I would think they could probably write off the usual cost of rent as well if it's a charitable event (do the quote me on this it's an educated guess.) If you fins a place willing to donate their space, you save a major cost. I can't speak to how many places would do this but I have faith that there is at least one. Like I said I'm going to see if I can't get myself involved with next year's event when I get home, 4 guys running this thing is just terrible for them that's to few people things can't be managed well enough when there aren't enough people to do it to begin with.

I've dealt with Hershey before when I worked for tmobile they were very pleasant to deal with, I think they may be willing to help us out. The main issue with them is we will need hardcover douche patrol because they don't play nicely with arrogant asses.

Alright now you do, because when I requested off work I called it a car show, boss I'm going to a meet this Sunday just didn't sound like a believable request. They are very similar things to begin with... But as I stated before, meet/car show/clusterf*ck whatever you want to call it, people were there to look at cars, and that was not an easy task this year.

I think you could bring a lot of ideas to to the staff for next year, let's try not to cluster the thread pointing out every nuance that didn't go as planned. I think the staff is well aware of the areas that need attention, and I can also assume that it's some what a bitter experience having people tell them how they should have floated more money or done more being that they did so much already.

I kinda agree and disagree. I handed 10 bux up and as dcwiker05 said earlier would parked else where for someone like the gtr. However when i am done boosting my wagon and finished my build i see no reason why someone should be able to say* hey nice saturn but it is a saturn so no vip for you* if it is built cleanly and properly i dont think the car type should matter anymore. And personnally i prefer seeing unique cars not the same show cars over and over. It may not be what you like but everyone who works hard should have the same rights to show pff there work.

Nice video man, I'm all giddy my car made it in. The teal Impreza that you focused on the grill then zoomed out is mine. Well done!

Also yeah this did kinda get cluttered an I apologize, I'm definitely going to see if I can get my fingers in next year's pie though.
