the 1jz came in jdm cars: jza70(mk3 supra), cressidas, soarers, aristo
and the 2jz's came in the mk4 supra's, and the alteza's/lexus is300. The 1jz was never released in the us, and it is about 30% of is is 2j parts from the flywheel forward and the 1jz is 2.5L the 2jz is 3.0L |

is the bottom end the same??? And just the head is different??? I always wanted to know the difference but never knew people with supras. I always had hondas.

For the 2JZ, they were made in NA and Turbo models... the NA has the code GE and the Turbo has the code GTE.
As far as I know the engines are very similar internally, aside from higher compression pistons for the NA and lower compression pistons for the Turbo.

the 1jz was made in N/A as well.
the 1jz has a shorter stroke and therefore a higher redline. people a lot of times do a 1.5jz using a 1jz head because it supposedly flows better, and a bigger displacement, maybe stronger 2jz bottom end, or it might be the other way around. |
