Are you in Malvern often? I see what I think is the exact car at least once a week. Looks really really good.

It might be more stressful to drive at that ride height but she sure is pretty on the coilovers.

LOL thanks. Didn't know you were on TST. Now we can talk over the internet instead of actually interacting, in true socially-awkward-engineer fashion.

And you get back to work.

I'm not in Malvern too often in this car. I think the one you're seeing is a guy from West Chester who has the Nismo V2 front end and gloss black Volk GT-S wheels w/ polished lips. Also a very nice Z, super aggressive looking with that V2 nose piece.

can i ask the width/size/offset of your wheels? And also what size tires? IM currently on 19x10.5 et12 front et-3 rear with 235/35/19 and 245/35/19 and want to get some bigger tires on the car. Absolutely layed out was good for a while but i need some more drivability in my life and your car really mixes that with looks well. Love the car

Thanks for the compliment! Current setup is 19x9.5 +22 fronts with 255/35/19, 19x10.5 +22 rears with 285/35/19. Running 5mm spacers front and rear, so net offset +17 front and rear. I like the 255/35 fronts but 285/35 rears are overkill IMO for my naturally aspirated "slow" setup. I think 275/35 would be the proper choice for a 10.5" wheel on this car making stock power. Frankly, I only went with 285's to fill in some wheel gap when I bought them a couple years ago.

New wheels and tires mounted: Volk LE37t 19x9.5 +22 front (with 5mm spacer for +17 net offset) with 245/35/19, 19x10.5 +22 rear (with 10mm spacer for +12 net offset) with 275/35/19 Hankook Ventus evo v12's. Muteki neon-chrome lugnuts for fun. Also removed / plugged the rear wiper to clean up the car's profile.

Looks fantastic. I know nobody really does it, but I think it would look so much better if all the lips matched the color of the car.

Car/new wheels look great. I'm partial to the ce28's, but the te37's still look fantastic on there.

Thanks for the compliments!
I've seen it done a few times and honestly it never looks right to me. Especially on a black car, from a distance it makes it look like the wheels are 2" smaller diameter (with correspondingly taller tires).

Thanks! I liked the CE's but felt they had run their course. Plus I was inspired to get a set of bright silver wheels after picking up my daily driver (black 2004 STi with OEM bright silver BBS wheels). Then the formula silver CE's started to look really dark haha. Back in October a guy in northern Virginia was selling this set of LE37t's in great condition at a fair price so I had to jump on it.

Hey I don't blame you. I have gone through lots of different wheels on cars. Sometimes they're just do for a change. The new ones flow well and are a good change from the dark wheels. I'm pretty jealous of your DD too! I'll be getting an sti as a daily once the Z in paid off. For now its the civic, which isn't too bad considering the MPGs haha.

I hear ya on the gas mileage bit. I'm getting maybe 20mpg around town (and that's if I stay out of boost) running a stage 2 tune. Now it's an off-the-shelf tune which is going to run a bit rich (because Cobb doesn't want to be responsible for dumb kids blowing up their Subaru engines) so with a pro-tune I could maybe increase gas mileage.

I've heard that the 2011-2012 STi's have a fuel eco mode built-in which can get something like 30+ mpg on the highway (while my stg 2 sti is getting maybe 24mpg at 75-80mph), but I don't really know whether that's true, and late model STi's are still a prohibitive amount of coin to get into.

When you do go to buy your STi, make sure you get compression and leakdown tests done. Lots of cracked piston ringlands out there. If/when the time comes feel free to shoot me some questions, I may be able to steer you clear of potential problem$.

20 isnt too bad around town. I was getting like 22-23 in my stage 1 lgt i had before the Z. That was mostly stop and go too. I get terrible mileage in the Z. I get 35 highway out of the civic though. I won't be getting a newer daily for a few years most likely. Most of my money goes into the house fund. But it'll most likely be a WRX or STI. Unless they decide to make the LGT look less like a camry again haha. I appreciate the help though and will definitely keep it in mind!

Looks great Steve! Keep it up man! Hope everything is well!

I recently put two piece 18" bbs on the wagon and will be putting a bigger turbo in Friday! Still plan to manual swap and lsd this summer as well!

Yo what's up Greg! How'd the turbo swap go?

Replaced my 10mm rear spacers today with 15mm. With the current alignment setup and tires this is about as far out as I can go without rubbing. Fenders are rolled tight and pulled slightly.

dat ass
