HG issues?

Alright, just to be curious I went under my car to look at the condition of the headgaskets to see if anything was up. On the right side of my car (while under the car, the side the ABS module is on, the left side when looking at the car's engine while looking at it standing), everything was clean, no residue of any kind, no oil leakage.

When I look at the left side (looking upward from the ground, the side which the coolant is on, right side of engine bay when standing) on cylinder is clean, but the other cylinder, which appeared to be above an engine mount had the gooey muddy mixture. I can't really tell if it's oil because of the heavy consistency of the mixture. Is it normal for residue to gather in this space between the engine mount and the engine? It is a very sticky-muddy mixture right at the heads and the headgaskets. The other cylinder on that side (not covered by an engine mount) is dry, just some dry mud.

Anyone know if this is normal or a sympton of headgaskets going slowly but surely?

Probably the valve cover gasket leaking. Cheap, easy fix.
