What Car?

What would everyone reccommend as far as a car that is:
- Not too expensive. (I am 18)
- Lots of after market parts.
- Not a Civic.
- Will get some respect...

I would like to get a Toyota Supra, but they're too expensive for me. I was looking to sell my 1993 Toyota Camry LE 4cyl.

Miata (sorry I want one so I am on a miata kick haha), 2.5rs, Eclipse (if you know how to do your own work). What kind of aftermarket parts? Are you looking for something to throw green paint and a mix of 5 different body kits or are you looking for performance or both?

91 - 98 Nissan Sentra SE-R. Then you can claim you stole one of Jonny Tran's SR20's.

Pop a T25 on one of those and go trounce some stage 2 wrx's.

If I find one on a lot around here the wagon will be finding a new owner very quickly.

get a first gen GSX, or even a 2nd gen if you've got some more money to go around. they're cheap and can be made fast very easily.

maxima! $3000 for the car. $800 for 3.5 motor $1500 for a clutch and lightened flywheel and some slicks - low 13s all day.

I'm looking more for a mix on power and handling. I don't want something that is going to become a money pit and break all the time. I will have to go check out some GSX's, I'm looking for fast not show.

what was that saying again?

oh yeah... you can pick any 2 of the above but you'll never get all 3.

you can get a 1g gsx but be prepared to work on them frequently b/c they are hard to find unabused/molested. 3 grand and you are running 12's there are actually a couple on here that i would consider buying....especially the black one

foxbody mustangs can be had at a fair price...they are pretty easy to work on and you can get into low 14's high 13's with minimal mods

uhhh scratch the whole gsx search then lolol.

I mean, do you have a price range at all? All that was said was that a supra is too much and any decent supra is 20k+, so does that mean you wanna spend like 15k, 10k, or 5k?

91-94 Protege LX:

Disc brakes, total sleeper 4 door, 7k redline, close ratio gearbox, tons of
parts available (Most Zx2 stuff fits one way or another), decent aftermarket,
30 mpg if is possible if you keep your right foot out of it (my last tank was
32 mpg). I picked up a 91 with 78k on it for $1250.

91-96 Escort GT is the same thing except in hatch form.

you could pick up a number of cars for less and go 12's. the vq motor is junk..sorry i own a vg im biased.

for the OP dsm is the cheapest way to go, and if you do all your maintenance its not so much of a money pit.
