Brent's 92 Lexus SC300

Been meaning to do this for awhile just been busy with work/ hibernation till spring. Mid December I bought this 92 SC300 5 speed from a Hyundai dealer in west chester. It was a one owner car sold new in California and brought to PA in 95. I actually have the CA plate in the house.

Body is straight, very few dings and the interior is near perfect. All this was for 1300 plus my Avalon as a trade.

Since then I've replaced the Alternator and added top speed Axlebacks.

As far as modding goes, I'm playing this car by ear. This is my first car with actual development potential so more things are available to me it's just deciding on what to do. With my Avalon I had a solid mindset on the limited choices I had.

Indeed. 106k on the odo currently. It was listed at 4 grand. I test drove it and bought it the same night. Opportunities like this don't come around often.

I know. I'm doing my research on a NA-T build for next year. I don't want anything extreme because I know how fragile the W58's are. 300-350whp would satisfy me. Probably get myself into too much trouble with more.

I do. This is my first SC but my dad also has owned one for the past 4 years that I've got seat time in, so I kinda know what to expect for repairs and such but at the same time a few items are different between his 95 and my car. So I'll do that soon.

Keep your eye on the lower control arm, they seem to go quite a bit. Just get under it and check all the bushings...

I got a few ideas in my head. I'm not sure what I want to do. Since I have more options open to me then I'm used to, it's a matter of browsing a ton of forums and reading feedback on potential buys and price shopping. This has been my issue for the past month lol.

Replaced the mirror ECU over the weekend (90's tech  ) because driving around with non working mirrors isn't fun. Also what isn't fun is getting that ECU out. It bolts to the bottom and the top of the steering column and the top bolt is slightly offset so it's a bitch to do. I still feel that repair.

Also my auto tilt steering broke yesterday. But I took it apart today, set the wheel manually and it moves again. Clueless on that. I turned if off.

Brent's 92 Lexus SC300

Installed a HIC Roof visor today. Didn't do the best job putting it on, but it's on

They aren't meant for this car. But why waste a grand on new wheels/tires when saving for coilovers/boost/EMS is better? I wanted to get privat akzents but it wasn't cost effective. I tried selling them but the low ballers kept coming and I decided to keep them.

Knocked out the timing belt, water pump, cam, crank and distributor oil seals along with a new thermostat yesterday. This should solve the rest of my oil leaks I was having.
