My fiance wants a new car...

She has an automatic 03 Tiburon v6 and is lookin at an 07 Fit(5spd) w/ the sport package. The Tib has 50,xxx miles, the Fit has 16,xxx. The monthly payment plus insurance is the same total amount... What's your opinion?

sounds good to me. probably better gas mileage, and imo, better looking haha. might as well go for it.

How long are the fit payments for and how much longer until the tiburon is paid off? The fit should get much better gas mileage, which is nice with the way gas prices are going. Plus it's a lightweight manual trans honda so it will be fun and reliable :D

Not thinking $$$ numbers or anything i would go for it myself. I actually like the fit and want one as a daily driver myself. I think its a good looking car especially with the sport package, probably great on gas mileage, and is very reliable. It would all come down to a test drive for me thou something i have yet to do on a fit.
Just curious, what color is the fit?

She has like 4 years on the tiburon and I'm assuming the Fit is a 5 year plan.

its cool, I went to my parents.

WRX is fast?

Tell Stacey that she got a ring... so you should get a wrx

Back on topic... if the two are going to come out to be around the same price for the car and insurance... I'd probably go for it.

Honda's hold up well and have a better resale value than a hyundai. Besides... it can only help when you find a used WRX that will be the same costs as the civic

The one she's looking at looks just like that but it has some vtec stickers on the side. She's at the dealership right now, they're begging her to put $300 down, come home, put her stock wheels on, go back and drive the Fit home. I'm worried that she's going to hate the lack of power in a few weeks and then it's gonna be a bunch of "I need a k-swap, i need a turbo" nonsense while I'm trying to pay for this wedding, rent and my slow ass civic. I'm the one who's supposed to be wanting a swap/turbo right now, hah.

tell her to tell them to let her take it home for the night and that she'll return it after work.

I once had a dealership let me take home an 02 elantra gt for 24 hours to decide whether or not I liked it

Relax, bud. When the dude with a drag Honda and a boosted daily that has had fast Honda's for years AND fabs his own parts tells the new kids on the block that they're doing it wrong, it's time to step back and learn something.

Update...she owes 10k on the Tiburon, they only want to give her 5. Thats a 20k Fit she's looking at now and she hasn't even test driven it. Why didn't I go with her?

How was the "power" as compared to your old civic? I just want to understand if that Fit is gonna be as gutless as I'm expecting...no offense.

I told her to go drive it HARD or else I was wiping my hands clean, that should buy some time for this to continue.
