Keith6110 1999 Mitsubishi Galant

Figured I would do a Member Journal here. I made another to reference my old car.

http://www.tristatetuners.com/forum/...d.php?t=123660

So this is the new one.

Mod list:

Performance:
Eclipse GTS 3.0L engine
Eclipse GT 5spd transmission
Spec stage 2 clutch
Megan Racing Headers
Magnaflow 7in round mid muffler
Megan racing Universal Exhaust
Ebay Cold air intake
HKS Air Filter
Poly Engine mounts
R1 Concept Drilled and slotted rotors w/ ceramic pads
17in gsx wheels
Poly control arm mounts
Freedom Design Strut bar tower
Adjustable sway bar links

Exterior/interior:

Rotor glow orange Paint from Lancer/Evolution X
JDM Spec 3rd gen Tail lights
JDM Spec Rear bumper w/ rear spoiler
JDM Spec Rear side skirts
JDM Spec Vrm front bumper w/ Svr4 trim
JDM Spec vr4 Projector fog lights
JDM Spec vr4 new style side skirts
JDM Spec Head lights
JDM Spec old style Grille
JDM Spec Interior chrome Door handles
Limited EGR rear visor
Ebay rain guards
20% Window tint
Prosport water temp, boost, and oil pressure gauges
Kenwood 25th anniversary 4000 color deck
Kenwood 280 watt rear 6x9
Rockford fosgate 300 watt front 6.5
2-12in mtx 1000w subwoofers

In February 2011 I picked up the new project car:

I decided to go with rotor glow orange paint from the lancer/evolution X on this one. I love the way the paint looked on the cars at Mitsubishi owners day.

Saved some JDM headlights from my old galant:

I decided to change the color of the JDM Super Vr4 bumper trims on the front bumper:

Lights on:

Interior shot: Things to notice, JDM handles and JDM stainless steel door scuffs.

Engine bay:

Then Ksport coilovers:

New stance:

Mod 2011:

Hey buddy what's up. I think I saw this galant at the Camden MOD last year. Nice ride. How are the R1 rotors holdin' up? I have a set but I'm thinkin twice about putting them on.

Yep, I was there! Thanks. I had bought the premium drilled and slotted rotors from R1, they seem to rust very easily when I let the car sit for a week or so. They are very straight and have had some hard braking previously dodging forest animals lol.

Mine have 12k miles on them and still seem just as good as day one, just gets surface rust easily when sitting around.

I have 18in evolution x wheels going on it, this should raise the car up enough to clear some of the roads around here. I'm thinking maybe an inch lower all around after I do that. My country roads are unforgivable here and sadly my bumpers are fiberglass =(

Thanks for answering my question. I will probably Powder coat the hat part on my rotors before I put them in.

I guess you don't mind the Evo X wheels being heavy. They look awesome though and expensive as hell.

Great plans ahead.

Looks good. Love the color rotor glow. Saw it at MOD11 and liked it. Are the grey parts on your bumper graphite grey?

One question, Did you had idle problems with that Diamante manifold to the 6G72 throttle body?

Actually, The heavier the wheel the more durable =P My roads have moon craters on it lol, bends other wheels easier.

Thanks man, the grey parts are like a graphite grey. I had picked it out from a 2010 book at the paint shop called colours. It's a 2010 ford color from one of the suv's.

umm, it idles fine but sometimes the idle "spikes". Not sure if that's caused by the manifold or not though.

Gotcha. Looks close enough where it's hard to tell. (Graphite Grey Lancer owner)
