I think $900 sounds like a good starting point for an offer. Do you have a set of pedals ready to go on it or do you have to price a set out?

Ended up getting it for $1k. Took it right to the shop and had some Crank Bros Candy 1's put on, then took it out for a 32.7mi ride!

Keep a close eye on those pedals...

You'd be better off going with something like Speedplay or an SPD-SL setup. Crank Brothers pedals are notorious for failing.

Bearings.

I've seen them seize and spin the pedal out of the crank, I've also seen them fail completely and fall right off the spindle. They're crap.

Some people I know ride with an extra pedal just in case.

Roadie and mountain biker here. I race mtb cat 1, but this year I started doing time trials. Just won the Pa state time trial in the cat4 class this weekend. That was the highest class they would upgrade me on the road ( I never had a road license).

Crank Bros stuff = ****.

I didn't have any problems with my mtb pedals, so I couldn't justify buying another set of shoes and pedals. I'll ride these until they break, learn my lesson, and switch when the time comes

Finally got a ride in today - tried to make a group ride from Pedaller Bike Shop in Lansdale at 6, but traffic was all kinds of messed up on my way home today.

Ended up doing a 29 mile solo ride at moderate effort. Averaged 18-19 MPH.

Solid, dude. I did 38mi today and I think avg around 15-16 but that wasn't constant pedaling. I was pacing with some legit dude in a race getup around 18-20 though, so maybe my intersections, etc are really murdering my avg speed. Any tips on how to get my speed up? Does it just come with building leg strength?

Leg strength, endurance, mental concentration... need to remind yourself to keep going and not take it easy.

What does everybody think about waiting a week or so until it cools down a little bit to get a group ride together?
