networking and security will most likely take you a lot further than the other possibilities to be quite honest, ever since 9/11, security has been a HUGE thing, and if anyone wants to argue the security section those are words straight from my dad's mouth who makes 300K+ a year working for the government in networking and security

network and internet security will ALWAYS be around.
security is a huge issue- look at all the **** going on at banks alone!

im not in networking but deal with logistical IT security and learned alot. My boss got a letter from his bank stating they lost a backup tape. Stuff like this brings companies DOWN and so they have to invest heavily in it.

almost all security IT people are super paranoid about EVERYTHING

here's the issue though... those people making mad loot more than likely have more than a 2 year degree... or even a 4 year. and honestly, if you're deciding between network security and design work... you'll probably hate one or the other. totally different fields

I work in the field and I agree it is boring, be prepared to work in a place without windows lol. Networking especially will have you spending time in networking closets pluggin in crap. The money isn't bad but in general the work sucks.

thanks for confirming

some people can handle it, others can't... i can barely handle having a desk job in a wide open room... i'd go nuts doing network work...

it's a rip off man, they charge you like 18 grand for a certificate. you can't even get your associates with them because they had the accreditation pulled. they suck so hard it isn't even funny, i'm a "student" there right now and have a perfect 4.0 even though i've never even opened any of my books. you're much better off at community college

for the absolute record... certificates get you nothing!

experience > degree > blowjob > handjob > anal sex with a guy > certificate
