nitrous in a street car

tell me about having nitrous in a street car. is it legal to have/use. legal only if the bottle is unhooked on the street or does the bottle need to stay out of the vehicle? what kind of fines/tickets would i get if they found it. and if its mounted in the trunk what kind of reasoning do they need to be able to check the car and possibly find it?

the reason i ask is because the car im buying has a system installed and ive never really checked into it much.

I'm going to guess that if your using the system on the street the last thing that will be your worry is if its legal to have in your car. I cant find something specific that prohibits it word for word but a ticket for improper equipment or maybe something about transporting a compressed gas without a permit could get you but it would depend on the situation.

Remember, bottles are for babies
