Okay, this is gonna sound weird. But in this episode of House M.D. called, "Son of Coma Guy," House wakes up a patient's father from a coma he's been in for years using a mixture of amphetamines and L-DOPA for a few hours. Obviously, it's not a common practice and it's NOT something ethical doctors would do..

But if you were in a coma for years, and someone woke you up for a few hours, knowing that once the drugs wore off, you'd go right back into your coma again forever.. What would you do in those few hours? Let's say, for consistency, that the drugs will give you 12 hours before relapsing back into your coma.

Honestly, think about it.


edit: I forgot to mention.. in the episode, the coma guy wakes up, really wants a hoagie in Atlantic City (the hospital is 'located' in Princeton, NJ), so House, Wilson & coma guy go to a hotel with a casino & spend their time trying to find the hoagie place the guy is looking for.. because apparently the place must've closed. The coma guy kills himself at the end by swallowing a bottle of aspirin because his son needs a donor heart but since the kid's an alcoholic he can't get on the transplant list.. and this way, he doesn't have to go back into a coma, he can give his life to save his son. *Tear, tear* I know.

I would spend the first 6 hours with my family and friends, then I would seriously drive my ass off. I would just go nuts with no fear at all. Maybe I'll flip a car or two. Definitly blow an engine.

Seriously, Id shack up with a bottle, drugs and the girl and have my way while smoking about 5 packs of cigs and finish it off with a steak. Then with about an hour to live, get in a highspeed chase and hopefully go out in glory!

Tough. Are we're being as realistic as possible?...IF you've been in bed for over a certain period of time, you ain't going nowhere with all those atrophied muscles. Do I still have family? If I do, I'd probably spend as much time with them doing cool stuff. If I got no family left I'd just go all out with some crazy ****. Steal an exotic car GTA style, pick up some random people and just cause mayhem in general. I'd probably end up in jail when the coma hits again.

Well, obviously this isn't extremely realistic to begin with, lol. The supposed formulas for coma arousal include L-DOPA or bromocriptine, dextroamphetamines, time in a hyperbaric chamber, naloxone, scopalamine patches, L-tyrosine, & vit c. That amount of medication would probably damage the livers and kidneys to begin with. BUT, point being, if this somehow did happen to you, what would you do?

Me personally, I'd spend most of my time with family or friends, get in the car, and fly somewhere warm, on a beach, settle down with a drink or two and relax. That's the way I'd want to do it. But, if it really ever happened to me I'd probably be too upset to do anything knowing that my clock is ticking a little too fast.

And then take a nap, because I like the feeling of waking up, and it might be the last time I'd do it.

I'd say drive, but if the DSM wasn't running when I went into a coma, it sure ain't when I've come out, lol.

Side note: Smash the hottest chick possible, because if someone woke out of a long-ass coma, you know there would be media coverage, and media coverage+coma miraculously coming undone= sympathy poon out the wazoo.

If I could do "anything" in those 12 hours, it would be as follows.

1. Spend most of the time with my kids
2. Smoke a cigar with my brothers
3. Eat a really fat cheese steak with a nice cold beer
4. Drive the Ring in a really wicked Ferrari
5. Sexy time with wifey
6. Wait until I've only got a few minutes left, then get dressed up like Superman and skydive from a really high altitude without a parachute. It would be over a really densely populated city, so people would look up and think for a split second "WOW there's superman", then I would slip back into my coma before splatting all over them. Good times.

yea i would do what most of u would do

smoke cigs all day, hit the liquor store or bar to get a good buzz goin, take some nice female by the hair and have my way, steal an exotic car and fly around drunk and reckless, scarf down some good food real quick (no time to wine and dine)

stop by a couple friends houses to say whatsup, see my mom, maybe see the gf, smoke some mary jane, drink some more...

then im not sure how i would end it... theres this really huge jump near my house... its already killed a few people.

i would probly take the nice stolen car and hit the jump as fast as possible (maybe 140 or so, not too much room to get speed) and just fly through the trees.

but only after ive beat the **** out of the nice stolen exotic on my favorite local backroads. oh and i would definatly get one of my friends to get the jump on video. or maybe mount up a cam in the car. that would be nice

but i really dont know what i would do, id probly cry like a little bitch
