computer tune vs dyno tune
i finally found a place that might be able to tune my pontiac, but just had few questions... is it worth it to go for the dyno tune over the computer tune if it's a $100more? do they do the computer tune to a certain octane or is that only for dyno tunes? is there going to be big differences between the 2 types of tunes im a tune newb so i nothin about it |

What do you mean by computer tune?? Are you talking about just getting your car flashed by a company.
What I mean by that is certain companies have cookie cutter tunes based on what mods you have done to your car and such. Example the APR stage 1 and 2 flashes a lot of my VW and Audi friends have. APR just plugs their scanner/tool/gizmo (I like technical terms lol) into your car and uploads a new set of timing/fuel maps for your car. No one I know has really had a problem with these types of tunes. However I like the personal attention my car would be getting if I brought it to a shop for a dyno tune, even if it was a few extra bucks. I'm going to be taking it one step further and tuning it myself whenever my new parts come in.

A tune is the most important part of any build. I am not a big fan of flashes and all unless all you have just a few basic mods. Being a bit more specific about what all do you have done that requires a tune may help too.

the dyno will give you a more accurate real world read of what your motor is doing under load, therefore making for a better, and more safe tune for that matter. Yeah, with basic mods, all C6s might be "the same" but it still imo will give you better piece of mind to tune to what YOUR car needs... not what everyone elses car has needed.

You should really be asking street tune or dyno tune Have you got in touch with ZZPerformance.com and see if they have any recommended people out in PA that can tune your setup?

I tuned a G5 on our low reading mustang dyno to the tune of 335hp and 376 tq. The car was awesome.. BTW was YOUR BASELINE NUMBER AND TUNED NUMBER is what matters. A dyno tune gives you data needed to make the power safely, on the road you are just shooting for values and hoping for the best. Dyno is always better, ALWAYS. unless its a dynojet lol

then 189whp/202wtq seems just about right for the mods you have (only a few minor ones right?). You lose hp from the crank to the wheels just because of friction and momentum transfer in the motor/trans/axles/etc.
