Need help finding an old car.

Long story short. My grandfather passed away 7 years ago, and shortly after my grandmother sold his prized 67 Mustang. Now I am trying to track it down in hopes of buying it back and bringing it back into the family.

Details from what I can recall. I was 15 at the time so my memory is kind of foggy.

-67 Ford Mustang Bone stock.
-Blue with a white convertible top
-White interior with black carpet.
-289 V8 with an automatic tranny.
From what I have heard who ever has it now didnt really take too good care of it so it might be kind of beat up/sad looking.

I recently talked to the person she originally sold it to and he said he sold it to someone in the montgomery county/surrounding county area.

If anyone runs across/has any potential leads as to where this car might be please send me a PM. I will be more greatful than a bum getting a free meal.

You'll NEED the vin either way to make sure your getting the EXACT car your grandfather once owned. I suggest contacting the insurance Company it was under or maybe the DOT can help. After you get the VIN run a carfax maybe for further info? (not sure if they go that far back in year per model).

Good luck man!! And if you do find it try not to approach the owner in a creepy matter haha! (would creep me out if someone showed up here asking to by "their" car back after tracking me down.)

You watch too many Chevy commercials! Lol. That is great that you are trying to bring the car back home, but it will not be a cheap or easy project. The person who has it has prob put alot into it themselves. GL.

Love this idea. Hope you find the car! My grandfather had Cadillacs his entire life. I was sad to see my grandmom sold his after he passed away.

Good luck Mark! My dad had an old '72 Cutlass Supreme vert when I was a lad and I would love to track that thing down... we still have the title but I think it met the crusher at some point (it was a project car). Lmk how the search goes

Dude I traded my car in about 3 years ago on my wifes car and instantly regretted it. Went back to the dealer a week later and it was gone. I tried for the next couple years to replace it but I couldn't find anything in as good shape that I actually liked or enjoyed driving. Back in march I found it sitting in a junkyard completely untouched.. had like 15 miles on it since I got rid of it. Went to 2 different owners who I guess didn't want to fix it. I had to have it and ended up getting it back for less than what I traded it for. So good luck and don't give up. Stranger things have happened.

Goodluck in your search ! I have been in the same exact search, Except for all of my fathers old mopars to buy back that sold in the 80's . Sadly I haven't found any yet, Only ''hints'' as to where they may be scattered around at in garages. I have offered a $5k cash reward already for anyone that can tell me where the car is in the link below, But no one seems intersted enough to make money. http://moparforums.com/forums/f10/tr...-pa-80s-10276/

If you have the vin number, You can go to your notary (If your in good with them), And they can find out where the car currently is. If you don't have a notary willing to help, Give me the vin and I'll give you the entire history of the owners after it sold, And where the car is located today, From my notary. I'm at my notary 4 times a week.
