Sold My M3 & Wrangler - Bought a Trans Am

I sold my Wrangler on Friday morning & traded in my M3 for a Trans Am. Picked it up out by Gettysburg last night during a tornadic thunderstorm - sweet. It's a 1998 (Wish it had been a 2000-2002 - oh well). 6 speed, black/white stripes on black leather, t-tops, K&N FIPK, WS6 functional Ram Air hood, Flowmaster catback exhaust, Pioneer head unit & speakers. Aside from that it's all stock, just the way I wanted it. Pardon the crappy cell phone shots...

Already getting better MPG's than my M3. Down grade for Auto-X, but I go to the drag strip more. The M3 was great, but wasn't exactly what I wanted.

Wow the gas mileage surprises me. And I can def see this being faster in the 1/4. I thought your jeep was pimp with the winch on it and mesh wheels, that was you right? I do love me a ws6, but e36 m3's have grown on me recently.....and the purple....sex.

I love unique cars man. I go through them quick though as anyone who's seen my posts knows very well. The T/A gets around 25-30 MPG highway. So far I have averaged 17-23 combined in the T/A with about 500 miles on it in 2 days (damn). The M3 would average 17-21 combined. The other thing, that 2" H&R Race kit with Koni's rode so badly. It cornered like nothing else, though.

My Wrangler sat for months at a time (engine running up to operating temp and a short 1/4 mile drive every couple weeks). I wanted someone else to USE it. I put too much time and effort into it to let it just sit. A father bought it for his 17 y/o son as a surprise present. How cool is that?!

FWIW: I got $6000 for the M3. I honestly got bored of the car. It had 116k miles on it as well and just didn't have enough power for me. The Wrangler had 196,000 miles on it. I loved it, but I drove it a total of 4 times from October of last year to May of this year. I wanted someone who would use it to buy it.

The hood is a WS6 hood (functional). The car is not a true WS6. All the WS6's I found around here were automatic and $14,000, or 150,000+ miles. This was the least expensive one with under 100,000 miles in the area with a functional ram air hood. IMO it's not worth spending $5000 more for an auto trans and WS6 hood/suspension, or 50,000 more miles.

Mod-wise I am going to keep it how it is with the intake and exhaust. Not much more I "need" right now. May be able to get some wheels for very cheap at work since we have accounts with Mickey Thompson, Cragar, American Racing, The Wheel Group, Ion Alloy, PDK, etc.

For MPG improvements (It's better than my M3 already but wouldn't mind more) what should I be looking at?

Thanks man. I get sick of cars quick so we'll see how long this one lasts lol. I did have my Camaro for 2? years IIRC, which is a long time for me! And that thing was an LT1 V8 and an A4 trans. Averaging 21 MPG right now in this. I was around 20 MPG average in my M3. Go figure.

Looks good, but 10.5 for a 98 is a little steep. These cars dropped in prices ALOT. I bought my 01 WS6 for LESS than that 3 years ago...
