New timing belt and tensioner I need to set the distributor timing tomorrow still.

When I pulled the sparkplugs, I noticed the gap was miniscule. One of them was so tight that I could only fit a sheet of paper in the gap. I regapped to .031"

Looks clean. I could see you driving this. Does it have a sunroof or did you cut a hole in the roof so your head fits in the car? lol

I'm sure I'll see it Tuesday if it doesn't rain.

Yup, airbox still in, just removed an intake pipe. Super easy compared to doing it in a VR-4

Actually it has a factory sunroof I fit either way though, lol.

See ya Tuesday if the brake booster comes in. Exhaust will be here Tuesday and that's a fifteen minute install. Brake booster is closer to two hours, so I hope it comes in Monday.

Yeah, it's amazing how big the inside of these little cars actually are. One of my bud's has a 91 and it's just an awesome little machine. Good luck with yours.

Thanks!

Master cylinder is shot. I can see why, the bore and everything is coated with rust. I guess that's what happens when it sits for 8 years and then it's driven for a year with no attention paid to the brakes. If I don't have a nice firm pedal after another bleed I may just go insane, lol

New master cylinder in, new headlights in, new exhaust on, new brake booster in, new mk4 rear calipers, new Pagid front pads, new timing belt and tensioner, new struts... Awesome Brake pedal is rock hard until I turn the car on, then it's overboosted as hell. I don't have a clue where there would be air hiding in the lines. I've bled about 3 quarts through, which is a lot even considering the mess with replacing the master cylinder. I can still easily lock up the tires, which isn't saying much considering they're all seasons, but oh well. I drove last night and to work today. Still need to double check all the torque values on the struts, I'm getting some clunking from the strut mounts. The exhaust will shoot fire at high rev overrun

Haha, thanks! The plan was to smash through all of this basic mechanical stuff, pass inspection, save up to do the radio up right and then tackle the radio and the annoying interior work. Headliner is saggy, which is typical. The headliner fabric is in perfect condition though, so that's a win.

Thanks!

Super pumped, my brake pedal is firm now, and my car is running superbly! Driving around for a couple of hours did it good
