New concrete surface too. Either 60', 700', or the full 1/4 mile. Jim hasn't confirmed the length of concrete yet I've seen need lighting should be installed as well.

I get lazy and do the Friday Night events. Usually best when a slight chance of rain or thunderstorms is forecast. Keeps the ricers away

Fridays are too crowded for me, lucky to get 3 runs in and that takes all night! I like Saturday's because you can actually test n tune your car. I've never been on any Wednesday test n tunes, so hopefully not too crowded

Really? I've maybe seen four Subaru's there in my last 5 trips. Being as though it's easy to hear them as well, I'm sure I would've noticed others had they been there. It's typically a few 9-10 second drag cars, then Honda's, Acura's, some bikes/ATV's, Mustangs, Corvettes, Camaro's, and a few misc. imports as well. Oh, and trucks lol....

Last time I went, June 10th, 2011 I got in 8 runs from 6pm to 8:30pm and got bored, so I left:

Some shots back in 2007 when I had my Camaro (so you can see the vehicles in the background):

You should try reading better. You stated the rain keeps away the ricers. I said this place is supposedly flooded with wrx's. My comment was confusion in your comment because an awd vehicle would fair far better in the rain then a rwd vehicle. I wasn't doubting who showed up. Hell I'd probably have an easier time getting enough wheel spin with a damp track without being worried about shredding first.

I read very well, thank you. I think your comprehension of drag racing at tracks needs to improve. Your comment didn't make any sense - racing in the rain. I understand now that you aren't aware of how tracks operate in wet weather. The tracks shut down when the track surface is even mildly damp. They use tractors with fans and other equipment to dry the track surface. Again, you cannot race when the track surface is wet. That's why when there are rain or storms forecast, most people won't show up (FWD, RWD, AWD, it doesn't matter). If you're lucky with a rainy forecast, and it does not rain, you almost have the track to yourself, or shared with 10-20 other vehicles max.

I am aware of the risks. I've seen a couple smaller places over the years with Subie meets allow racing to take place in more then damp conditions. I assumed by your storm hunting maybe they were lax in their rules as well.

Wednesday's are good if you want a lot of runs in.

I went once last year early in the year on a Friday. Just to spectate and it was packed like crazy.

I would only go on a Friday if I got there right when it opened.

I go on Sunday's when there's bracket racing. I'm not big into the test and tunes.

Fair enough. Either way, Cecil needs to open soon. I'm excited to see how the new track surface reacts!

How is this place on certain times require certain things. When I was at Englishtown years ago and my car was stock everyone had to wear a helmet. When I had the 2.0 swap At Maple Grove I ran a 12.7 and needed no helmet but I think under 14 you had to wear pants. So say with my new upgrades I'm shooting for low 12's to high 11's what should I be prepared for when I go there so I don't get flagged?

They follow NHRA regs. With 12's you will need a helmet, I think Snell 2005 is the oldest you can have at this point. Long pants, long sleeve shirt are needed as well. I've never been in the 11's 'cept on my bike, so I can't say anything regarding the regs for a car in the 11's.
