Living out of state for a little over half the year. PA/NJ

Hey Officers,
Got a quick question. If I am to move to NJ from PA for 7 months out of the year, and move back to PA for the rest of the year, every year for the next 3 years, do I have to change residency each time? I think that would be rather ridiculous.

Reason I am asking is because I am going to be going to school in NJ, but living in PA when I am not in school/ my unit is also in PA. My buddy I deployed to Iraq with is a Police Officer in NJ and said I would have to change residency. I argued I would not have to simply because a lot of college kids don't. What do you guys think?

thanks for your input! Stay safe.

its not at if your really establishing permanent residence

not sure with NJ but in PA you have to change your stuff to PA within 30 days

I don't see much point to keep switching back and forth but yes your are suppose to
