This is why Street Racing is Illegal!! Read this asap.
I do not condone street racing and this is a pure example of why. Not only did we lose a great tuner, friend and individual yesterday but a Child's life is at risk now. The car that he struck had 2 women and a 11 month old baby whom is now in critical condition with head trauma. This kid hasn't even lived his life and I know that Freddy if he was still with us today would have a very hard time staying alive knowing that his actions caused this. Here is the story and video's. http://www.wwlp.com/Global/story.asp?S=9101538 I know its fun people and I would be preaching you bull**** if I said that I dont like it myself. I am constantly called a "pu$$y" around because I dont like street racing. You never know what can happen out there. A tire can break, somebody can jump in front of you. No unsanctioned race is worth your life or the life of another. Drive responsible because for all you know it could of been you in that other car. Stay safe everyone.. Just food for thought. RIP - Freddy... |

Tracks are designed to accomidate and help compensate against loss of control. Streets were designed for their posted limit. Take it to the track... hopefully this reaches 1 person to reconsider it.
Godspeed to you and yours, hopefully that child won't suffer. I wish everyone the best.

I agree...and this is totally unrelated.
I decided to top out the Evo on my way back from Frankfurt in the left lane on the Autobahn. Hit 140 with ease and layed off, then punched it down all the way through 5th up to 160 and kept pulling toward redline. A car in front of me decided to pass in front of me. Lucky for me I had time for the Brembros to grab and send me into a tailslide when the weight went forward. He seen me in his mirror (I assume) and swerved back into his lane. I was lucky to recover by hitting boost and setting the car back straight. Lets just say no more top gear runs for me. Im done.

Testing a car out = street racing?
I'm sorry for your loss, it's been a rough year for this kind of thing.

Considering the serious look of that car, I don't freaking understand why you would even remotely want to get on it on a narrow public street. If we have to 'street tune' sometimes here at work, it's done on a HIGHWAY with super light traffic.
Tragic none the less. Hope the baby pulls through...the mother must be soooooooo sickly upset

Granted this is a horrible story, it is not street racing. Street racing generally involves two cars. If a cop were to spot someone testing their car, they would get a speeding ticket, not a racing ticket. This is simply a car test gone horribly wrong. I hope everyone pulls through okay. Sorry for your loss.

Sorry to hear that. Something like this has happened many times a year, for the past few years now. Always seeing High School Kids racing the cars mommy and daddy buy them and take others with them, some people i know too.

That's absolutely insane.
There are a ton of questions to be asked, including how fast was this "street tune"? Regardless, god bless those involved, and I hope the story gets straightened quick...for everyones stress level sake (involved).
