Engine Salt Removal

Has anyone found a good way to removal light to medium aluminum oxidation of aluminum valve covers, blocks and heads? I looked around Wallmart, but all of the cleaners said "Do not use on aluminum..." I cant stand the look of the white specs all over this motor...

I really dont want to order anything online so I'm looking for a chemical that I can get at a store of make at home.

thanks

Edit.. it turns out this is actually salt stains from the motor being near the beach... Anyone know how to clean this crap off?

If your aluminum is so oxidized that it's getting 'dusty' then you need to get mechanical in order to refurb it.

I've used mothers aluminum wheel polish with a die grinder & buffing heads from Harbor Freight.

Honestly, the only way to prevent the oxidization is to prevent air from getting to the aluminum - meaning clear coat it.

Yeah because you can sandblast, and powder coat a block.

The mothers ball on a drill works.

I saw the mothers aluminum polish and I almost went for it, but I wanted to hold off and see if I could find something more hardcore. I see online a lot of people recommend Alumabright and other cleaners\polishers.

Those mothers balls look cheap and ther're pretty expensive to use on something so dirty.. I could justify it on my powder coated wheels but not a grimy motor haha

No oakes for me... I dont need the motor show quality.

Griots metal polish drill bits and metal polish will do the job. I also have the griots small polisher but it only works on flat surfaces.
