R.I.P Nick Stoliarov

i lost a good friend this weekend... Nick was at my house thursday helping me work on my car, less than 24hrs later he was killed in a motorcycle crash. Nick was riding his motorcycle in Lindenhurst where he lives and was struck by a car driven by a 40yr old woman. he was pronounced dead at the scene.

i've known nick for abour 3yrs now. he had a custom turboed V-6 Tiburon, spent 6days helping me install my custom turbo kit on my car. after he blew the headgasket in his tib he bought a EVO X and got a job at D&G Motorsports. a tuner shop that specializes with EVOs. a couple months ago he got his Yamaha crotch rocket and was a very responsible rider. at the young age of 21 he was taken from us leaving his wife Erin a 19yr old widow. Nick was a great guy who was always willing to spend countless hours working on other peoples cars for nothing more than cold beer and hot food! Nick loved speed whether is was on the ground or in the sky. he was attending SUNY Farmingdale for being a pilot and had recently passed a bunch of certificaitons.

here is probably the last pics taken of Nick. it was less than 24hrs before the accident. exactly where he wanted to be.... under the hood with his hands on an engine!

a few of my fav pics of him:

Hot Import Nights '08 with his EVO X

on his bike in his shop (D&G motorsports)

RIP Nick Stoliarov
1/20/87 - 7/11/08

heres what i have set up

Decals will be $10 each and i have 30 of them. all $300 made from this will go to his wife Erin.

Pic of the decal on my car: (12"x2.5" white vinyl)

if you dont want a decal and would just like to donate a little something to a young widow you can do so as well.

as far as payment goes, there are 2 options:

Paypal: RIPnickS@hotmail.com

or Cash/check in person (i will be at the wake friday nite 7-9pm and the funeral 9am)

if you pay via paypal please include the following
+ 3% for paypal fees

also anyone making any payments to paypal plase include the following
-Name (shown by paypal)
-Forum and Screen name (doing this on multiple forums)
-specify if it is a donation or for decal or both

Sorry to hear about the loss. I hate Lindenhurst...too many old people who cant drive(my town..Brentwood ftw). Its a shame when someone so young has to have thier life snuffed out when they had so much more to live. I have lost more friends than I cared to, so I know the pain man. Keep the memory of the fallen fresh..thats all we can do.

tragic...i'm probably going to make some enemies.. but I liken riding bikes (especially with traffic and motorists today) to playing with guns....its only a matter of time before someone gets hurt/dead.

RIP

I ride a motorcycle (when it works anyway) so I know how dangerous it can be... it's funny, people always talk about how dangerous they are, but many of those people have never even been on one... riding a motorcycle really opens your eyes to how dangerous it really can be... A guy I know just wrecked his bike last week (it's a Big Dog custom) and had compound fractures/head trauma but he's back to working as of yesterday, so he's getting there... because of the head injury, he doesn't remember what happened except he knows he slid into a mailbox at some point.

I don't know if Nick wore one or not, but if you ride a bike, you should wear a helmet, regardless of what the laws are or how "cool" it makes you look to not wear one (get yours airbrushed, that's what I did)... I've always said it's not a matter of IF you'll lay the bike down or not, it's a question of WHEN and how badly you'll get hurt... obviously there are always those instances where a helmet won't save you, but it really helps your chances.

All that said, I'm sorry to hear about your loss. It's always sad to hear about another fellow cycle enthusiast falling, especially so young, and especially when it's due to someone else's carelessness.

Thanks for support guys

yea NY State law requires you wear a helmet. he never rides without the helmet and his padded jacket.

i think i'll stick to riding dirt bikes in the woods and stay off the streets where other people can kill you
