The Water neck is out for chrome and I am painting the coil pack cover flat or gloss black as well and I am stopping there. I need to put in the boost solenoid, MAP sensor, get a short piece of intercooler piping to connect the turbo and add a few short fuel lines to close up the circuit.

The pics don't show it very well and the bay is dusty.

Yea sold it in April after I picked up this one. I've been laying low chilling with Chris and Tyler mostly. Tyler painted the coil pack cover and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

Here's an update - Been pretty busy lately - finished up the the chroming and painted the coil pack cover. Pressure tested the fuel system, installed the CPS and the AEM Infinity. Still need to connect the passenger intercooler pipe and bolt up the turbo kit. Engine bay is pretty dusty from being stored and I'm slowly cleaning it up.

Installed the turbo kit, boost solenoid and infinity harness for flex fuel and fuel pressure - need to solder the power lines up for the fuel pumps.

I think the chrome came out really well and looks awesome in the sun - the last piece is a chrome hardpipe for the water

Chroming is finished. Last owner put 1/8 NPT ports in the waterneck, intercooler piping and intake - all of which I plugged. Intercooler piping has been routed with new silicone couplers and t-bolt clamps so I won't have to deal with too many boost leaks. Oil cooler bracket didn't fit so I had to rig up a bolt to hold the cooler in place on the bottom. After that I bolted on the intake.

I've been priming the engine, but after a few 30 second cranks with no oil flow and burning up my starter I will be pumping oil into the turbo oil feed to establish pressure. Annoying, but not too bad.

Here's my solution to monitor the oil pressure

Before can fire it up I need to get good oil pressure.

So I bought a weed sprayer and rigged it up to push oil into the turbo oil feed line. It's working pretty well, but of course I ran out oil last night

Can't you just pull the fuel pump fuses and crank it for 30 seconds to allow the oil to circulate?

Unfortunately no - new OEM pumps on a dry engine don't usually create enough suction with just cranking. There's also an oil cooler so that needs filled.

Pressurizing the turbo feed with oil seems to be working. Maybe another 2 quarts in there and I will have it well primed.

Been pretty busy lately, but managed to get over to the car and loaded the VVT-i cam and crank settings on the Infinity and kept getting syncState problems. Car would just crank and nothing. Turns out you have to adjust the VR_PWM% table from 60 to a lower value like 25. Turned the key and the car just fired up perfectly and idled great.

The infinity is pretty user friendly and the car idled well despite the fuel pressure being 60psi at idle, no fuel pressure sensor and idle untuned lol.

Still need to fill it with coolant, install the exhaust and get the timing sync'd too.

Installed wastegate lines, intercooler piping and exhaust. Since the current tires are like 7 years old I have new Yokohama S.Drives waiting for it.

Coolant system was cloudy from sitting for years so I bled it and now it's pretty much cleared up. Might do it again because it just has water in it now.

Changed the oil for the first time and it was murky with all the assembly lube and other stuff coming out, but no metal pieces! Refilled with 5w-30 valvoline conventional for the break in. I'll change that out in a few hundred miles.
It fires right up and drives, but the idle is a little high. Needs some work with the timing/VE/Injectors to dial it in.

I'm thinking of getting a bracket fabricated to bolt down the infinity in the passenger footwell.

Yea for sure - still needs tires, which I'm doing this weekend and getting it inspected, but it should be fine to cruise over next week or so.

Today I took it out to get new tires and put about 10 miles on her. Grabbed a few pics along the way.
