Stereo
This is a really sore subject. When I first got the car, I was young and stupid. Now, I'm just stupid. I got this notion in my head that I wanted this crazy insane stereo in my brand new sti. So, about a week after I got the car, I gutted it, and dyno-matter the ENTIRE car. Then reinstalled everything, did a simple stereo install. Bored with this, the next summer I took it to a local stereo shop, and they went to town on it. Custom door panels, tweeters in the kicks, custom sub enclosure - 1500w RMS, 3000w peak of amplifier going into a 12" sub. I had zero trunk space left, and the car sat noticeably lower due to the weight of all this junk. Needed two batteries due to above stupidity.

I left it like this for about 3 years. Brings us to the summer of 08. I decided to do the built motor. Then I decided - If i'm going for performance... What is all this extra weight doing in the car? So, I removed it all. It's sitting in my garage, collecting dust and the car now has no stereo. Anyone want a $7500 system?

I'm really torn about it. I liked having the system, and the sound - but I love how the car feels without the extra junk in the trunk. The car also sits a bit more balanced now.

Lots more to come as I get time (I dont do much at work, so lots of time to kill)

The pics below are from the car in various stages - they aren't the current ones.

The door panels from me being stupid.

Some people call this area of the car a trunk. I didn't think I needed one at the time.

This was how I justified getting a bigger turbo. My stock VF-39 failed me.

haha, working on it! I dont have any current pics yet. I'll get some this weekend.

On an unrelated note, my front wheel bearings are shot

Not being satisfied with putting another set of inferior 2004 wheel bearings in, a 6-gun racing conversion kit is on the way to convert my bearings to the 2005 style, and convert my wheel bolt-pattern from 5x100 to 5x114.3
