Harbor Freight Low Profile Jack opinions...
If it sucks and you wouldn't recommend it could you recommend a quality low profile jack under $150? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks! |

I've been using a Harbor Freight jack (not sure of model, but its a real low profile model) for about 2 years, and i've never had a problem with it. I picked it up on sale, and used a 20% off coupon on top of it, and got it for one hell of a deal.
it lifts the car up high enough to get a jack stand under it. i've never had any issue of the jack dropping pressure.

I was just going to buy that the other day at the new one in Downingtown except they didn't have it in stock. The price was only going to be $59.99 after coupon. I don't see one reason why you wouldn't get it. We have their 1.5 ton aluminum jack that works real well too.

Most everyone I race with uses one of those and/or one of these:http://www.harborfreight.com/automot...ack-92782.html
As long as the vehicle is not solely supported by the jack (use jack stands) it's fine. Just remember, you do get what you pay for.

I would trust anything made by Harbor Freight. It looks like a solid piece, and the main thing that I'd be looking for is the max raising height, which the specs say is 20" -- which should be more than enough to get the car up high enough to set your jack stands. I've run into that issue with a lesser quality brand jack (Torin Big Red) in which the jack height maxes out with just barely enough room to fit a jack stand under on the lowest setting. Wasted my money on that one.

I have the small aluminum jack, it works great for getting a low car up in the air so you can get a bigger jack under it. Or its great for changing wheels or a flat. Overall it's impressive and has never let me down with fitting under my cars which are always low.
The one you're looking at looks like it gives you the best of both worlds with being low profile but also being bigger so it'll lift higher. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
