420sx, ive met u before, i have no problems with u. But 3 bad discs in ur back and ur riding a motorcycle? I have a motorcycle myself and at 27 its not the easiest thing on it. doesn't seem like the smartest of all ideas for ur health.

lol valid point. 3 bad disc and can ride a bike but needs pot to help with the back

I've got to say, the best car scene I've been around is the "Hot Rod" crowd. People that take pride in their cars, do their own work, act like proffesionals, have fun, and are respectful to others and their surroundings. Granted, the average age is probably 10 years older than the TST demographic, which might explain a lot.

It's unfortunate that an event that so many people go to, that grows yearly, is torn apart with negativity like this. Did not anyone have a good time?

If I was one of the staff or organizers of this I would certainly be questioning doing it again. Not because it wasn't a success, but because they volunteered their time and money to pull this huge event off only to have people blatantly break the rules with no respect for the event and then bicker and defend themselves. How Sad!
It's sad that there will always be dis-respectful people at large events, especially automotive events. It's sad that those that were dis-respectful don't even understand how. But no one is going to change, there will always be these people. The solution as I stated before is more volunteers and staff to police and patrol the area with the authority to kick out (with police escort if needed) those violating the rules. Arguing with a dude on the internet about what he did and how it was wrong isn't going to solve anything, it just adds negativity to the event, a charity event at that.

You don't like how something was done? Volunteer next year to help improve it.

This is why I have little respect left for people in today's car scene. I'm 18 years old. I don't smoke pot, I don't do burnouts at public events, and I have the utmost appreciation for every car, whether it's a civic or a supra or a camaro.

To see 30 year old men screaming at me & my brother to "do a burnout", or "your car is slow cause it can't roast em" is purely comical at this point. Like yeah, the blower is just for sound effects bro. Shut up and just appreciate the cars, isn't that what car meets are all about? Where is everybody's heads these days? Stop talking **** on a car that you probably know very little about.

To hear people bouncing their cars off the rev limiters and popping their anti lag systems for 5 minutes straight is stupid. Just cause your ****'s loud doesn't make it cool OR fast.

As for the pot smoking, it's awesome that some people think it's a smart idea to get baked and then get behind the wheel of a (potentially) high performance car, and then proceed to drive like assholes, putting other's property and person at risk. Besides that, it's illegal. End of story. You're at a charity event with people's families all around, and the public eye weighing down on you. If you wanna smoke pot, do it in the confines of your own home where no one gives a **** what you do. It's called respect.

And that's exactly what today's scenes are lacking. RESPECT. (and common sense) (and good judgment) (oh god i could go on for days...)

Needless to say, we will not be attending the meet next year. I know many other people have the same view point as me, and thank you to all the people who were there for the right reasons. I saw some really cool cars, met some chill people, but saw & met an equal amount of trash & scumbags. Oh well. That's life.

Literally the same **** every year. Someone needs to be elected to either contact the local Pd prior to the event, or be the single point of contact to ask asshats to leave. Walking around with cash to quel any requests for a refund. It's that simple.

Find a larger parking lot. Multiple entrances, multiple money takers, one entry fee, it's that easy.

No food at the location? That's fine. It appears that the attendees aren't responsible enough to find a trash can, so the inverse should be that the responsible owners will have the wits to bring food.

I guess I yearn for the good old days when this was an "unofficial" meet and it was way more organized.

I learned a long time ago, "If you don't get your expectations high, you won't be let down with the results".

its not that simple. our broomall meet was literally like this every week. been kicked out of multiple spots because people like to blare music at 10pm and do burnouts. even when you single it down to one entrance and have people taking plates down as people enter to help defer the assclowns, they still do it.

you can call the pd all you want like we have done in the past at our local meets but the cops will not doing anything if they dont see it happen.

theres a lot of good people on here and ive met plenty of them however over the last several years it has gone down hill and the main reason why i do not attend anything anymore.

But you answered your own question. You were at an unsanctioned location, at 10pm. You can't expect to not attract assclowns. For a single charity event, on a Sunday morning, with the land owners consent and knowledge, planned months in advanced, for the 7th year running, there is no excuse. Period.

How much money was raised? Assuming all $2,000 cars paid just the $5 entry fee, that's $10,000. Can we skim $500 off for a private security company? How about donate to the FOP? It's that easy!

How about set $500 aside from last years meet, or setup a donation PayPal to buy caution tape, orange t shirt, signs, or trash cans? For being 7 years in, changes should be visible.

There isn't a landowner in the tristate with unutilized parking spaces who wouldn't allow the use of his parking lot for a single day charity event. Call the newspapers, invite some magazines, call radio stations, call channel 69, this could easily be managed better. And don't go saying "Then you run it Mr. Smarty pants." Because I would offer to. But then it would be considered insubordination.

Having driven past and shortly stopped into the first two sonic meets in Akron, then attending the meet two years ago in Morgantown and now this meet I must say this was my least favorite...

When I drove by the first one years ago I had a run down 240 and I honestly didnt feel like my car was good enough to be in the same parking lot as 90% of the cars there, which in my opinion was a great thing.

Morgantown was my favorite though because it combined the best of both worlds, a meet and a car show. There was a dedicated area for nice cars and all that was in that area was nice cars, period. Then there was a place for e erroneous else to park and I had a Subaru and found room with a bunch of Subies parked together, which seemed to be a trend, like cars with like cars and that was awesome. I think that worked out and happened better because there were multiple entrance amd exit points btw. The cops there also really kept things on lock down I saw a bunch of people pulled over when I left and even 2 in the lot got busted.

This year though the location was terrible only one way in and out no real direction to the flow of cars or parking. Saws one asshat in a pos prelude park diagonal at the back end of a row blocking people from walking row to row without going in the grass (hard to do with a stroller...) and impeding cars from leaving (truck had to do like a 30 point turn and back out to leave thanks to him.) But the thing that drove me nuts was the Chrysler mini van parked in the vip section and all the trashed cars taking up spots. I know it's a meet I get that but there should be sectionalised parking or something where people just showing up in the family car park in a different lot or fill the grass and save spots for the built cars. Two years ago I took over 350 pictures, this year, 85, I blame this on having to play duck duck goose to find the hot rides.

Overall this was still fun, but I don't feel it was worth the hour band a half long drive to get there and I don't know if I will attend again next year unless I stay the whole time, maybe even volunteer idk.

To the alcohol/weed/burnout arguments, I'm all for my booze blunts and burn rubber but like the rules say and everyone here says too, there were rules and there's a time and place for everything. I also call bs on the busted back blunt smoking bike rider... Have you been on PA roads? I'd have to sell my Subie due to the rough ride if I broke my back, I definitely couldn't see riding a bike after comprising some discs... Hell my grandpa has a permanent morphine pump do to his messed up back. I get your argument, weed should be legal not st medical but all of it but sadly it's not and this was a public event so some respect or GTFO

To expand on that though (sorry Tapatalk kept freezing so I have to post again) there should be 3 sections, the $25 VIP, the $10 "Rides of TST, " and the $5 family cars. I'm not trying to hate on anyone's ride but had I known there was a GTR that couldn't park because the lot was full I gladly would have parked my Subie in the grass, even though it is a hand built sleeper swap. I'm sure the guy who chimed in here with his Saturn would have gladly gave up his spot too for a GTR. Designated areas would have been a huge help IMHO

valid point. even though it was with the owners permission it is still public property so your right, you cant prevent that.
