no film on the windshield is legal, even if its clear...but you can get a doctors note for the uv protection...the problem comes when changing stickers on the front..

All i know is, using Lumar on my last car (except the windshield obviously) made it about 75% cooler in the summer time. Also dramatically reduces glare and sunflare while driving. My $.02, tint is a no-brainer, every car should have UV-protectant tint.
