I'm not big into mitsu so I wouldn't really know what would be best. I did have h&r coilovers for my jetta and loved them. but it would really depend on your budget and how low you want to go, if you didn't want anything crazy I'm sure springs would be fine.

First of all..welcome to tst. Im a mitsu girl myself. And for the lowering...i personally have h&r shocks with kyb lowering springs and i really like them. They ride smooth. Or k-sport coilovers are pretty good.
