Based on your screen name I take it you have an STi? Don't need one if thats the case... save your cash and use on something else!

I have heard differing advice. Some people tell me to get one, some don't. Just wondering why you say not to.

Even if it is an STi you will see an improvement if you put an uppipe on. The stock ones are a slight restriction. Get a non flex uppipe, there is really no need for the flex section.

haha...i hath been over rooooled.

Just wanted to throw that out to him since I wasn't sure of his cash situation. Since the STi's don't have a cat in the uppipe, he would have as much of a restriction issue as us pre 06 WRX owners....wasn't sure if maybe he would want to put the money elsewhere...like a downpipe for instance.

I have a perrin non flex uppipe. Never had any issues, untill i got my header. now I keep blowing the gasget out. I think im going to have to go with a flex uppipe to seal with the header.

Is this what you are talking about? It looks like the flex section expanded inside the pipe! YIKES!!!

I'm running an Agency Power solid uppipe.

Make sure you pick up a new uppipe to turbo gasket.

Go solid, no reason for flex. No up-pipes have fitment issues to my knowledge.

To the best of my knowledge any up-pipe should work. Just buy a well manufactured up-pipe and have someone fab it up. There really aren't too many variances of design in the aftermarket up pipe market.

I think Area1320 can do a custom ewg-style uppipe.

And I believe Helix has one in the works.

helix does have one and its a great price BUT... fitment is poor on it.
i was real excited when i found out they were making one and then when i found out the price, but it seems that unless you also get a helix downpipe and route the ewg back into that downpipe, you will have clearance issues.
it seems that the helix puts the ewg dump right over the power steering lines or the axle, i forget which, but its so tight you cant even fit a dump tube in there to route around it.
i'm using a perrin uppipe and having 1320 weld and ewg on there, i know it'll fit great.
i do have an extra perrin uppipe thats brand new in the box i'm trying to sell... $160 and its yours... let me know.

pete and i had a bad hks experience... we had to hammer the studs inward to even get them to slide into teh turbo inlet flange... could have just been a bad apple though since genrally hks stuff is pretty decent.
