what are your thoughts on the b8 a4
i just cant give up the creature comforts that i have with my 335i, i realize i wont have the performance but if i can get 3-4 more mpg's and be able to drive it all year it will fit my needs right now the only car that comes to mind is the b8 a4, looking at a prestige s-line package never owned an audi so any thoughts or opinions (from people who actually owned or driven) is appreciated |

I know its super exciting shopping for new toys, but are you really expected to travel in conditions that REQUIRE AWD/4x4? Isn't that why they have 4x4 trucks for snow storms? (That you don't get apparently) How much snow do you really think the a4 is going to be driving through? Wouldn't it make much more sense to just buy a good set of snow tires for the 335 and see how it handles a winter? Wouldn't you feel awful if it didn't even snow/ice up bad this winter? I hate seeing people toss their money away because they jumped the gun. I am saying this under the impression that the 335 is the best thing since sliced bread, because that's how I see you writing about it on this forum. Things like this just remind me of people who trade their car in for nothing, only so that they can owe 20k+ on a new car, for the simple fact that they wanted better MPG. |

Does the 335 have a mechanical LSD or is it just electronic traction control? I've been driving 300+ HP RWD cars(2005-2008 Mustang GT's with mods) with mechanical LSD's through the winters here for 4+ years without an issue because I buy good snow tires. I have a job where I'm on call and sometimes have to drive into work int he middle of snow storms when the roads aren't cleared and I don't have an issue getting into work or getting home. So I don't think AWD is necessary unless they xpect you to drive in the worst possible weather conditions, but i n those conditions a B8 A4 won't help much because it will be working as a snow plow.
The newer A4's are nice. I had the opportunity to drive on on Pocono's road course a few years ago and also in autoX. I actually prefer a 335 myself over the A4, but its not like the A4 is a bad car. I wonder if you woudl be trading reliability for AWD and MPG if you got the A4? What I've heard form Audi owners makes me think the A4 won't be as reliable as the 335.

If you want a different car just buy a different car. You don't have to justify it to anyone here.
I don't have any issues with RWD in the winter with good all-seasons. |

Good tires and a quality lsd go a long way.
I drove a light ass one wheel peel pickup with okay tires through everything. Only got stuck when I was being stupid. I bought a Subaru thinking it would be awesome in the snow. It was,for the whole 12 inches we go all of last year. |

The 335 is a much nicer car than an Audi
For the misfire that wont go away - clean the carbon off the valves by walnut blasting and see if that works - swap injectors and coil packs - if all else fails you could have bad cam ledges
