its more maxing the engine out... i believe it was done in 3rd gear... so basically you run it to redline in 3rd gear and then you have ur numbers.

4th gear.

And to no offense to anybody here, but I think dynoing a stock car is throwing money away these days. You can search the net for hundreds of stock dyno sheets for about any car. Your car will be within 5hp of the mean with how well (repeatable) they build engines now. Save your $70 for after you mod to really see how much HP you have.

I understand the need for a baseline, but it's hard to go against a mountain of data.

Jon as always... I'm jealous of your car....

As far as dynoing a stock car goes... imho I agree it makes no sense if you don't plan on doing any modifications. If you do plan on upgrading...then for some, its a must in order to truely see gains that pertain to your car and your and your car alone. I dyno'ed my WS6 when it was stock. I made 15 HP more than most other stock graphs I had seen. Jons car actually dynoed almost 10hp higher than most stock STI graphs I've seen as well. Everyone i've come across has put down around 245whp...but everyone likes to spend their cash in different ways...

if you understand the need for a baseline, then what you said kinda negates itself. i dyno'd my stock car because i wanted to see what my car specifically put down. i knew about what kind of power it should make, but no specifics, hence the dyno. i feel like my money was well spent and i was pleased with the results.

Those are sweet stock STi numbers!!

you said the dyno normally reads low? Pretty average numbers for the Sti are 230-240whp. I have only heard of a few that hit 250 stock. If your dyno read low, then you very well could have somewhere in the 260s!

I hate to break it to you man...but those numbers they quote on the TV commercials...thats not actually the power you are putting to the ground...you lose quite a bit of horsepower to drivetrain loss--- its kind of sad that an Evo owner doesnt know that...since AWD cars have it the worst.

Unless you drive an SRT-4 and then usually there dead on.... and then you get off the dyno try to launch and get wheel hop and wheel spin like a mofo FWD<AWD FTW

anyways chaos the car looks great. If you don't install your exhaust this weekend let me know, I'd be more then willing to give you a hand

Car looks great man! Love the V-limited lip and the JDM fogs. Looking forward to seeing it around sometime.
What did you pay for the Genome exhaust? I have the Apexi WS now, but I may be replacing it in the future.
