I have yet to drive the truck in a civilized manner for more than a few miles at a time. from what i understand e85 is less efficient, but im am not sure as to what extent. id love to go for road trip sometime and test this to see if im really saving any money.

E85 FTW! In my Evo days, folks would claim it was 40% less (more?) efficient (less MPG), but it destroyed everyones injectors so often I never dabbled myself.

Can you see the difference in your IDCs with the E85 vs 93 or is that controlled via the factory flex fuel sensor?

If I remember correctly from my Evo days. E85 makes more power because you can put a whole lot more fuel in the cylinder and still have it burn completely, which lets you put more air in, etc. This means burning more fuel, bigger injector and fuel pump possibly, but with a significant increase in power.

I have not looked at the duty cycle, but I have 1000cc injectors and when tuned on pump gas they weren't even at 50%. It is all controlled via factory flex fuel and to my understanding adds 3* of timing at 100% ethanol. I actually went to install a GM sensor, climbed under the truck, and found that it was a factory option on the truck! just a quick flip of the ECU

I did some reading as well and you're spot on. Its a shame my connecting rods are the weak link, other wise id turn it up a bit more

also, heres an IG/FB pic i dont think i shared here. Little bit of bondo and paint will make it something it really aint....

first failure today. on my way home from school for an emergency dental appt to look at my teeth and it overheats AND blows a radiator hose off. I didnt have much time to look at it, but if i had to guess i would say the electric fan failed and i was too focused on my tight time frame to notice i was running hot. hopefully just a hose and a few gallons of coolant will fix her up

I hope it's an easy fix too, because if it's head gaskets you are almost required to do some nice aluminum heads to please the TST ;).

but theyre already aluminum

it should be okay, temp was like 260 when it blew the hose, i accidentally left the bmw idle in the driveway and it went well over 300 with no head gasket damage, hopefully this engine is a champ too! I'll look at it next weekend hopefully

I always forget these came with aluminum heads. So your motor is an L59, correct? I'm sure they're fine, my lezbaru has been overheating for 5 years and they're still holding on

Which is shocking because Subarus go through more headgaskets than tires.

Oh believe me, the HGs are still bad. They just leak externally so I don't have to worry about it

Dude you need to tell matt to scoop this up for his next LS swap. Clean shell and great price. Perfect to tear up.

haha, he wants to do a subaru bad, but he just had his first kid so i think his time will be more limited for the next year or 2. 3500 seems kind of steep for a chassis flares or not

It's because of the ole STI tax

Well, congrats to him! A kid is cooler than an LSSTI, right?

for sure, its a shame Sti's are my dream car, the used prices make it difficult to justify buying one though. 20k for a 10-13 year old car.... might as well buy a new one.... heres to hoping the 2020ish revamp brings back the hatch
