Skip it if you don't know anything about DSMs. Buying a modified one is treacherous unless you know what you're doing, and buying a non-running modified one is a worse idea.
That said, it is a deal for a problem that is likely easily solved. Probably needs a tune, possibly a boost leak test, possibly a whole lotta time and money if you or someone you know doesn't know DSMs.

Funny thing is that the motor is most likely still on 450's and the car has a 16g on it. Fuel cut!

Yes. You've got to remember that the first generation of these cars was out before you were even born, man, so a ton of people have had a ton of time to go ahead and mod the crap out of them. Stock as possible, Or you could just buy a shell and start there. If you can't find a stock one, make sure you have a DD to get around, and make sure that you have about a grand saved to do the maintence as soon as you buy it including the timing belt, water pump, and all fluid changes. Also, be careful. Even in stock form, turbo-AWD is not a great combination for a lot of people's first cars.
I'm curious though. You can't slam a DSM, nor can you get that low because of the lack of parts in that dept, so why are you interested in one?

Well, you're not going to be different with a DSM. Everything that has been done, has been done.
RWD? You got it. Tube Chasis? Check. Strokers? Yup. Destrokers? Yup. Aluminum rod engines with huge turbos that rev like bikes and outrun them on the highway? Double check The sole advice I can give to you after sticking to my guns with my own DSMs for a few years is that they aren't for everyone. They take passion, a bank account, intelligence, and dedication to understand their quirks, modify them correctly, and tame them that alot of folks aren't willing to put out and that's why there are so many in the shape that they are today. Can they be made fast for realitively cheap? Definately. Slap a 16G, a boost controller, a BOV (if you're a 2G), and some tuning aparatus on there and you've got 300hp. I'd go with the Wagon, honestly. I know that you can relate to this: It's a total pain in the dick to fit a bike in any year DSM, and the one I have seen with a roof rack looked like trash. If you've got a Fozzy or a Leg, just stick it in there and roll. Or, toss a rack on there, grab three of your buds, and all roll together.
