Want to Borrow/Rent: Canon 50mm 1.8 lens

I have an event planned for this Sunday where I'd like to walk around with a camera and I'd like to try to borrow a 50mm 1.8 lens for my XTi. I've been thinking about buying the lens, but I won't buy from an online store and there are no shops in my area that rent lenses or even have the lens in stock. Basically I just want to shoot with the lens for a day to see if I like it enough to buy.

I can give someone $100 cash (full price of the lens) as a deposit until I return the lens in the exact condition as when I picked it up. I'd just go buy the lens and return it if I don't like it, but like I said there are no shops around me that even have the lens.

Order it from B&H, you'll get it the next day! I have about 4k in goodies arriving tomorrow including the new 70-200 2.8L IS mkII.

Thanks for the link, but I'm really trying to rent one first. Although they say everyone should have one fast prime lens, I'm not even sure that I want one yet. I sold all of my photography stuff to a friend a while ago because I rarely used it, now I'm borrowing it from that friend and considering buying it back. lol. I don't know, I just want to shoot with a good 50mm for a day and see if I get hooked again enough to spend money on gear.

Saturday I'm heading to Classic Pistol in Southampton around 11am for this and I'd like to take the camera just for the hell of it if I could. Then on Sunday I'm going to be getting promo photos at a charity bike race/car show/community day thing where my boss is taking a couple of his friend's race cars. We sponsor the cars so we're setting up a table for the day.

If you have the 1.8 lens that would be awesome if you'd be able to let it go for a day or two. I can meet up with you pretty much any time to get it. Let me know either way.

I'm jealous! B&H is a great place, I'm just not a fan of ordering online and possibly having the order get delayed, and then having to pay shipping to me and back again if I decide I don't want it. If/when I decide to buy one I'd probably order it from B&H and be done with it.
