Do you think this clutch is shot? *updated with better pics*

I'm going to try to get better pics in the morning, but this is what left of my clutch, flywheel, and pressure plate. I got the wrong flywheel (6 bolt not 7bolt) and I never looked at it until I tried to bolt the damn thing up so I have to call and get the right one sent out. Hope fully the can get it out to me quick cause the car right now is sitting in PA with the trany on the floor of my moms house and I'm rocking my step fathers car a 93 sl2

The clutch plate marcel seems to be in decent condition still.
However, the pressure plate and flywheel have seen better days.

On the out side of the disk it's starting to come apart and it worn very thin the other side is wors but I couldn't get a good pic of it

Is there small cracks all around the flywheel? When we pulled Allies it had cracks all through it.

There is a few small cracks on the flywheel, but its warped too

just get a new clutch and flywheel better than having to put all the stuff back on and then take it off again in a day or two

Yea the was no way I was going to put the stock crap back in it's just to much work to do again for the same problem

The disc is done. The flywheel actually looks better than Allies stock flywheel, lol.

The flywheel look a lot better then the one out of my 86 prelude that the had a huge crack on the mating surface I just can't belive how heavy the stock flywheel is.

It gets so much easiser to shift the tranny with a light FW. The revs drop so fast the syncros don't even get a work out. The problem is launching the car becomes a lot more tricky. Not to mention it becomes a lot harder not to look like a noob in day to day traffic revving the car a little higher so it doesn't stall coming from a stop and making it buck every so often.

X2 puttin those parts back on would be a waste of time.

melt them cand cast yourself a new FW, then make a clutch with odds and ends from pops utility shed..
They are toast, and if you drag race, stay with a stock, unlightened flywheel..

Only problem with that is the stock FW is cast iron and has a tendency to go, kaboom! I would not trust a stock FW on a car that sees boost on a daily basis.

When stock Flywheels explode they have a tendency to destroy hoods, trannies, motors and turbos at the same time. The scariest thing is when shrapnel comes into the cabin.

I have used aftermarket lightened FW's before, and every single one I used only lasted a few trips.. For AWD cars we need to slip the clutch a considerable abount genorating alot of heat and the lightweight FW's can not handle the heat..I've used the surface insert type and chromoly, they crack too easily..Cast iron can take the heat and the number of people who grenade their flywheel is very, very small.. I would not trust a LW flywheel that sees LAUNCHES on a daily.. Agree to disagree

maybe thats just your driving style and your a little heavy on the clutch to save your tranny. I've only heard of people have a issuses with the jun flywheels since they are so light. I've heard very few complaints about the act fw and for 250 you can't really beat it. After seeing the video of the galant that had his FW explode at E-town i wont use a stock FW

I had used the JUN and it lasted 5,000 miles with an ACT 2600 on a low 13 second car, heat spots everywhere and cracking, although spoolup was significantly improved (15psi @ 2250 with ported 14b..On my other FW the friction plated were just toasted..FYI the FW on the galant that grenaded the FW at E-town was a " lightened" stock FW, I know the owner, Doug..Turbotrix stopped lightening the FW's after that happened I believe..

what was the other FW you had? I'am not surprised that you toasted the JUN but do you have anything to say about the ACT FWs?

I never had the ACT, I think it was Fidanza mabye, one of the firts guys to offer the replaceable surface FW's, but they are both very similar in design..I will say that with A/C on, and a light FW in a 4g63 turbo, when you try to pull out you will need alot of clutching..You definitely need to slip the clutch pulling out from a stop alot more with a LWFW.. It's basiclly a "gain some, lose some" mod that goes both ways..Make your decision based on what kind of driving you do the most..

BTW I have some galant parts that have not been accounted for yet.. Au. spec. clear corners, whiteline swaybars, interior peices, Rally light bar for Hella's, Factory bra, couple other things..LEt me know if you need anything..
