Simmons 2001 Miata

I picked up a low mileage 2001 Miata.

It is in very good condition. I am going to build it for STR class, and a fun daily driver.

Very nice car, clean and looks great on those wheels. I'm interested to hear how those dampers do, I've heard all good things so far.

What are you going to do tuning wise?

I love it! I've wanted to do exactly this to a Miata for some time.

I have bronze 6ULs that sit very nicely against your car.

You will have to try it one event.

I am not sure if I will spend the money for tuning.......since I will be driving Nates S2K

DOY challenge car? If you haven't sold it, haha

Understood, I know tuning NBs isn't quite a flash and go process so it's expensive.

How long do you guys think you'll make it through the season before the ND smackdown gets old?

I actually think my NB will be really fast at warminster.....it's narrow.

I think we can run with the ND's, once we have the car and driver setup a little better.

We can definitely use my car for the DOY challenge,......of course that means I will have a advantage

Like you don't have an advantage in everything? Haha, I feel like you've driven everything

Your comment about width reminds me, I did a comparison of our runs in the Fiesta... I need to work on slaloms. I think I was driving the car as if it was the size of the BRZ.

I think Nate at Warminster is the only place I've compared videos and saw someone keep up with you in slaloms, haha

Nice car and nice choices of parts. What spring rates did you go with? My XIDAs are 700/400 but I'm considering going to 800/500 because I'm a 2500lb car with Victoria RC-1 tires. I run the 15x10 though, surprisingly an easy fit on the NB with just a roll. There's gonna be many new 245/40-15 tires this year :-)

I'm sure you know what you're doing but any parts advice you need, I'm happy to help. A 14mm rear seat bar would really make the car sweet of you used the 1.125" front bar.

I did the 800/500.

I can Only run 9" wheels per the rules,.....just have to decide if I want to roll the fenders to run 245's or stay with 225's.
