Depends on the ecu number some cars will allow the shift to third, i forget the ecu model numbers off hand.

skip shift is ****ing lame... it's in place to increase gas mileage so the car doesnt qualify for gas-guzzler tax... except when i shift from 1 to 4 i end up giving the car more gas just to accelerate. ****ing lame

Thanks guys! It is inspected in nj lol so I read on penndot that I have 10 days to get it inspected so I think I'll take it for a spin today. Has anyone had worries about getting them inspected due to the way you have to lift the car?

not sure about the interior of the c5's, but if it has an armrest w/ some storage... don't open it while moving with the windows open and the top off. i nearly lost my insurance and registration...

We have the armrest storage too. I lost a few $$ that I had in there already. The stupid things you don't think of when you are putting your phone on the charger.

I got a set of these. They are from a local guy to me. I couldn't find a good reason to spend a ton on the others. Its just hockey pucks with eye hooks. I didn't need them but have them just in case.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/CORVETTE-C5-...d310a8&vxp=mtr

Jacking the car up is very easy. I've done it twice now. 2 26" 2X6, jackstands, and a jack. I did have to drive my front end on 2 2X4s to clear the lower black wind deflector. Rear was cake. There are pics from when I did by brakes in my journel.

Yea almost lost a turnpike ticket haha with that small center console! But lesson learned luckily I didnt.

So car is getting inspected Wednesday and I'll pick up some Mobil one and have the mechanic do the oil while it's on the lift.

From there I will order the oil sending unit and the column lock bypass and tackle those jobs myself and with anyone that wants to help.

congrats and welcome to the C5 world.

You seem to have a good handle on the normal quirks and documented common failures. The CLB are good, but I think regardless you should check the condition of your battery. Have it load tested and make sure it's reading minimum 12.5v (nothing attached) in order for the BCM to properly operate the steering lock.

Also a common failure is the ABS/Trac module. They're are a cheap repair online, and don't trust what a dealer will tell you. I had mine repaired by ABSFixer and haven't had a problem since.

And of course, in case you don't already know, you can scan, read, and also clear OBD2 codes right in the DIC in the dash. If I were you I'd scan and check to make sure you're not throwing any codes for reference.

In case you don't know how and are lazy to search, press and hold OPTION. While holding OPTION, press FUEL 4 times. That'll bring you into the OBD menus. You can either let it display the codes on its own, or manually access them using the TRIP and GAGES buttons. RESET will clear the code. E/M will exit out of the OBD menu

Also, post up a pic of the engine bay. We can help identify your intake and manifold for you.

Thanks it sure is an awesome car! I narrowed it down to the eBay intake so I'm guessing stock would perform better but let me know if anyone thinks otherwise. I'll snap a pic tonight or tomorrow when I'm back in the garage!

that looks like an ls6 intake. ls1 intakes have a provision for egr right on top of the intake's neck where the throttle bolts to. no hole there means its a ls6.. its a huge improovement so you're in good shape there.

cant comment on the Maf. i allways kept the factory maf started modding...even when i went to H&C still ran a stock maf. i was making 630rwhp on the stocker. i would imagine the Granetelli will work just as well as long as its tuned.
