What happened to Urban Outfitters?

Urban Outfitters used to be one of my favorite clothing stores. 4-5 years ago I would always find a very funny and witty graphic tee. They also used to carry Lacoste, Penguin, Le Tigre, Puma, etc in store.

Within the past two years they've really shifted their style. Now it's full of vintage looking clothes. Lots of plaids, bulky cardigans, and no more humor graphic tees. I guess in some ways this is more... artsy? They've removed all of the label clothing like I mentioned above, and the graphic tees are now all full of this pop mainstream graphic art.

Has anyone else noticed this? When I used to go there a lot 4 years ago people would say that it was expensive, but now it's just expensive for what looks like a bunch of ugly retro clothing.

I went there today and before christmas to shop,i like it. Jesse if you go in any other store (I.E Gap,H&M,Forever21men,etc.) its all the same stuff now because that's what the fashion world is doing.

The women in that shop there though, usually <3

I agree, I used to buy Ben Sherman and my Peguin shirts from them, but now its rare if you see them carrying it.

There is a store about 3 miles from my house and a lot of the clothing is just to young looking for me.

Funny note, my Dad is wearing all my Le Tigre polo's, as hand me downs. lol

The Urban Outfitters I go to always carry the same style of clothing as well. I am really getting bored of the store too.

The graphic tees used to be awesome...

I have a few of them.

"Got your tickets to the gun show?" with two arrows pointing at your biceps
"Wax on wax off"
"More cowbell" "with a picture of a cowbell
"I got a fever" with Christopher Walkin's face
"I'd hit that" with a picture of a pinata
"Mr. Owl, how many licks does it take?"

I usually buy my tees from shirt.woot.com but I have noticed the difference with Urban Outffiters. I usually go to the one down here in Center City. They still have some graphic tees but most of the time, they're close to $30. The shirts off of woot are $10 shipped ($15 if you want them over night).

I'm the same way as you Jesse. Used to shop there all the time, then slowly lost taste for their items. I will admit tho, the one in CHill mall sucks. Doesn't compare to the ones in Philly or even KoP mall.
For your other needs, check out KarmaLoop.com They carry the brands you seek.

I can agree that their style has changed, it has changed with the fashion world though, cardigan's, artsy style prints and skinny BDG jean's is what's in now (hipster style)... I wear all the new Urban, as well as my old Urban stuff that still fits/isn't ruined... Heritage used to be good for the printed tee's but they're gone now, turned into Forever 21men which I don't know where any of those are near me...

Also, Express and Diesel are straight fist-pumping guido style now... which sucks.

Most of the Forever 21 stores (Cherry Hill, Heritage store in KOP) that actually had mens stuff shipped all of the mens clothes to the Forever 21 store in Franklin Mills. The F21 store in FMills is huuuuge but the mens section is very very small, only like a corner.
