You CAN NOT roll up and get 2 runs for $5

The 2/$5 fun runs are only for those that are competing. So, if you aren't already registered, no fun runs for you.

Not really.

Why should they be able to only pay 5 bucks to get out on course when we pay $40?

they had assumed when i said that there where fun runs that theyd be able to run.
they got themselves excited for nothing.

your right though. i wouldnt see it as being fair to us.

but i do like the idea of it. it brought a few more entrants in. still none in my class though haha

because the money they would make off the people paying $5 would equal or be more then the people that are paying full price....it would be smart to do that to get more people in

Not really. SCCA sanctions require insurance for each driver, and that is part of what's covered by the entry fee.

I'll probably be out tomorrow to watch. If anyone wants to give me a ride just come get me. I'll bring my helmet.

where did you see this? From what I can tell they just need a "weekend passenger membership" which is free and you can do on site. Normally its only NJ events that don't let passengers.

I took a lot of pics today but my point and shoot 6meg camera with dying batteries wasn't a fan of zooming so i got good shots but the quality didn't turn out well. I think its time to start saving for a new camera. May go back tomorrow to hand out some more and see if anything different shows up.

Read the Supplemental rules for the Holbert's Memorial event.

Ride-alongs were allowed for the fun runs that took place after the competition runs this morning.

How fast was this course? Was anyone getting into third gear(or close)?

I wasn't anywhere near topping out 2nd gear, but a few other cars were banging off the limiter on the finish.

Top speeds were somewhere in the 60 MPH range from what I was hearing.

I thought it was a fun course, I was able to keep my momentum up, unlike the one we ran at CBP last week.

Aaah....I see. I looked everywhere and it said passengers were allowed except that little blip. I wonder why? Overall a good time though, I'm sure the tires will scream in agony again today.

I could have grabbed third across the finish, but just let it bounce for the last 50' or so. The STIs and SolGXP were grabbing third there, and some of the guys were snagging third on the slalom on the way back in (I hit the limiter there once, but it only bounced once).

I need to get non-corded R-comps to put on the rear now.

Today's course was a blast, especially once I figured out the best way to run it.

First run was a throwaway... tried shifting into second after coming out of the first box, and ended up trying to shift, turn, brake while remembering the cone positions, then I knocked my wipers on, and in the process of turning them off I just said screw it and mowed over 3 cones.

Then I tried going left/right in the slaloms, and ended up deciding on right for the first slalom, and left for the second was the best way to go.

My best competition run was a 64.001, although I ran both a 63.8 and a 63.5 in the elimination competition later in the day. Not bad for running on performance all-seasons and only having ~106 HP. Only 2.5-3 seconds away from the leaders on their much stickier Bridgestones and Dunlops.
