in stead of plowing the snow cant some brilliant engineer come up with an attachment for a truck that melts the snow. i just added some pictures to my facebook page that show what a mess i am in right now. plowing the snow to the left or the right will be useless. it needs to go away.

one of you young brilliant minds that reads this thread.....get cracking i gave you an idea now make it happen. i wont takef a large percentage of creation once its up and running.

*insert another point for why suburbia is better*

There have been giant "heat" trucks in the past, sometimes even using aircraft after burners. Only problem with it was, since it melted all the snow, and it wasn't warm outside, once the trucks were gone it was solid ice. Defeating the purpose.

*waits to see Angelo outside with a hair dryer*

that might work....i have never seen one of those machines in action but it might work. i was thinking more like a machine that i saw being used while they were resurfacing an highway. it looked like a giant lawn mower with plates behind it that had flames under the plates that would heat the black top. then the next machines would pull off grind add more sand and other things and then lay it back down on the road. the first part is what i think they can use to melt the snow. it would melt it to water.

Yeah, melt it to water, but wheres that water gonna go once that truck is gone and it's re exposed to the current temperatures?

It would work with about 3 inches of snow, cause it would dry up under that heat just as fast as it melted. HOWEVER, for every 12 inches of snow, is approximately 1-1.5 inches of water, there is up to 30 inches in some areas. It would take too long to dry and would immediately freeze. Making conditions worse.

jet engine trucks......after burners.....once again your bright eyed bushy tailed enthusiasm gets you in trouble. instead of thinking low powered flame....you jump in with a jet engine.

slow down young bull.....if we walk down the hill and instead of charging down we will fcuk them all instead of scaring them away with our charge.

Nick....simple solution. What happens in the rain? The water rolls to the gutters. You just have to melt the snow not vaporize it. Then follow up the melting machine with salt just the way they do now or better yet a salty white brine.
