Funny thing is last weekend my fuel pump was making horrible noises about 80 miles from home. So on a long stretch of road I was doing anywhere from 80-90 trying to get home quick before it completely fails. Every car that got in front of me, quickly went back to the right lane haha. I never touched the brakes.

It is odd how they later fix their issue instead of doing it right from the start.

Once I get more familiar with engine tuning I can tune it myself with the Predator, but until then I will stick with what is known not to make pistons fly out haha.

But why do you say it sucks?
Working with mustangs, canned tunes on a tuner doesn't do squat except maybe give you about 2 horsepower, a little better throttle response and maybe and I mean maybe 1 mpg better.

I just go off by working with mustangs and seeing it through that. Tuners aren't worth it unless you plan on getting dyno tuned.

And again, with my experience through mustangs, SCT is mostly used by dyno tuners around here. Not many for Diablo.

the "canned tunes" for my '10 from sct was awesome. really livened up the car. changed the fuel mapping and "fly by wire" acceleration mapping...

My fuel mileage went up by 2-3mpg on the highway, which is pretty decent. Power wise, it isn't anything amazing but it definitely knocked a second off my 0-60 or even more (based on video's I took). The truck has better response as well and changing shift points and throttle input helps a lot as well.

Yea, autos feel way better then manuals with just a tune. They trans settings from the factory are weak sauce.

Definitely. I would mess with the TQM, but I've been reading that the 4l60e trans doesn't take it to well when you start reducing the TQM.

I belive that is the same trans that Julie had in her auto 05 GTO. If it is, you can def tune the hell out of it. She was chirping 3rd with hers. Def Google to verify though.

I'd def consider upgrading the trans cooler and be sure to do fluid/filter changes more often but you shouldn't have any issues.

Everytime I get back into an Auto car now I am reminded of what garbage they are... except my friends 08 R32... mmmmm dual clutch goodness. Didn't think I would be saying that.

It is a common trans. Issue is that Julie's GTO weighted half of what my truck weights . As for trans cooler, currently its the stock one that is in the radiator. I really wanted to upgrade it, which is probably next on my list. I also just did a trans fluid and filter change, and prior to that I changed the fluid to help clear out the old crap before a new filter went on.

On a side note all I need to do is add a stepper motor into the gauge cluster and have a working trans temp gauge. Issue is finding the damn needle and gauge overlay from a 2500HD avalanche.

the 4l60e were very robust. I'm not sure if it's the exact same as the auto 4l60e in the vettes, but guys drag with them all the time and they stand up to a ton of abuse.....so long as you keep transmission temps down. Plus, if it does blow, as you said it's a common transmission....a replacement could be found immediately and probably pretty cheap

You guys don't know what you're talking about. My RV weighs 17,000 pounds and it corners awesome. Weight has nothing to do with anything.

I think the Vette did have the same trans but the Vette has a different servo in it, which is a very common upgrade. And yes a rebuilt trans for this thing ranges from 1200-1500 plus installation.

Definitely get a new trans cooler. Especially if adjusting the line pressure.
