Eh its cool bro, i had a 150GB seagate external but i tried hooking it up and the drive is borked. So ill just replace all i lost, not a big deal

Posters, streamers, napkins, puzzles, playing cards, tote bags, advertisements, balloons, and Windows 7 Ultimate! Haha. It's the Windows 7 Promotional Party Package.

I've been using 7 for a few weeks. Its great. Love everything about it so far. No issues. Even my fingerprint reader software is built into Windows. So much smoother and now 1 less softeare installed to slow everything down.

Going to buy it this week now since I know it actually works.

It's an ingenious advertising campaign actually. Their cost is a few dollars per package, and the idea is that you throw a corny party to explain 7 to your friends. It generated massive press, and everyone is talking about it. Like it or not, you know about it and here we are talking about Windows 7!

Not everyone gets these packages, you had to sign up to throw a Windows 7 House Party. But they have gotten their money's worth from me! I own 3 licenses, and have gotten atlest 7-8 people to purchase it as well. Word of mouth works wonders.

If you are a student, go to http://www.win741.com/ . You can purchase 7 for only $29.99. (Requires a valid .edu email address)

Less likely than windows xp, but its still a target. Install free antivirus software like avg, and you'll never have a problem.

I have been running the 7 beta on my desktop for months now, and its incredibly well polished and bug free...and thats just the beta!
I'll probably grab the 30$ student edition at some point when I feel like reinstalling a fresh copy of the os. For now Ive been in love with ubuntu 9.10 on my netbook!

The most important thing is that your current version of Windows is properly activated. Although Microsoft alluded to the idea that Windows 10 would be a sweeping upgrade that would even install on pirated and/or unactivated copies of Windows, that plan never came to fruition and you most certainly need an activated copy under the current deployment model.

To check if your copy of Windows 8 is activated, press Windows+W to pull up the Setting search, type “activated” into the search box, and then open the “See if Windows Is Activated” result. Alternatively, you can look under Control Panel -> System to see the status of the machine.

Hopefully, you’re already backing up your PC regularly. If not, be sure to make a full backup before you get started. The update procedure is non-destructive (you won’t lose personal files or installed apps), and we don’t anticipate you’ll run into any problems. But, better safe than sorry. At the very least, make sure you have your important files backed up.
