I did mine and its not a fast process. Your Gonna get alot of hrs into it. and then u have to repolish it every few weeks. If i was gonna do mine again i would powerder coat and be done with it. Polished likes great but takes alot of upkeep..

Forget the upkeep, powdercoating it is. Of course return line and bottleneck fix first, then suspensions and wheels, and then comes some the vanity items. I'm not sure who to go with for a built bottom end though. I know I'm pretty set on a DCR pro mod head because I want the fastest spool up possible on my 5857 and I'll be able to run this puppy into the ground.

I'm familiar with some of his work, had an E2 on the car a couple years ago. FM might be the best best to get the bottom end and head dropped in. I'll see if he can offer a decent head setup with +1/+2 valves at the bare minimum, and some decent cams.

ive seen some good dynos with stock size valves. people have made over 500 with his CNC head on an e3 i believe. its not always about more flow, but making everything efficient n run at the same level... if your going baller big though +1 should suffice

You have to max an E3 out to make that power. My 5857 really flows up top, and I need as efficient a flow as possible. The larger the setup the better in the case of a big turbo. You always want to go with more than what you need. The +2 exhaust valves are a good setup for increased flow. A 47lb wheel is far different than a 60+lb wheel.

Lol, I usually stick to the SRT vendors anyway. I have a problem with my turbos. Between the two SRT's I've owned I've had a 20g, E2, D55, and this 5857. Since I'm used to driving with the 5857, it now feels slow, balls slow. That's why I need to do head work and my bottom end to get to the upper end of what this turbo can do before I upgrade again. High 400's hopefully low 500's after all is said and done.

I drive like a grandpa as is since I always have my son with me. I could probably up the boost and adjust the tune a bit and coast out to the 460-475whp range if I went up to 27. I'd be plenty safe seeing as how I don't beat the balls off my car. I just want my return line and head work so I don't have to up the boost and I'm safer while in boost.

So discovered that my boost gauge is taking a dump. It's roughly 2-3 psi off and apparently has been that way FOREVER. So instead of being at 25psi, I've barely crept past 22.

And I definitely do need a daily. I'm thinking of picking up a beater sometime this spring.
