sweet. iPhones are cool and all, but for me that's a hell of a lot of money to spend on a phone. i have a computer for 'computing', i have a camera for photography, and i have a cell phone for making phone calls. personally i don't see much point in trying to squish everything into one item that tries hard to do everything, but does it all half assed.

here's my phone lol you can tell that i have expensive taste for phones, it was $25 at wal mart!

i use a nokia 2330... 19$ from tmobile... too busy spending money on the 240 to have a nice phone

i would downgrade but email on the phone is waaayyyyy to convient.. basically only thing holding me to 'smart'phones now.

Ok ok- just sharing my excitement. PS Even those early test with keys in a baggie with the iPhone 2g turned out to be bogus. I tried using my 3Gs for a few months without a screen protector and low and behold I got scratches.

I stopped by Best Buy an the Apple Store yesterday to buy a case and screen protectors but the bastards wouldn't sell any accessories yet. Ironically enough you had yours the same day I did this.

I used to fell the same way- I was NEVER into gadget phones until the iPhone. Now it's the most used piece of tech in my entire life (sans my computer- as I do video production and spend many hours perched in front of FCP daily.

I find it pointless to have these phones. $100s of dollars spend on the phone itself. Pay an extra $30+ a month to have access to what?? email and facebook. Kinda a waste...

I wish I could capitalize on peoples stupidity and make money of it.

irrelevant; while i do use the nokia for voice i have a htc hd2 for data
relevant; i find that for running my business the hd2 smartphone is EXTREMELY helpful to be able to stay in contact with customers, especially during the design process and conversations... i upgraded to this so i could access my web panel to administer my site and such too...

depends what your purposes/reasons/budget is i guess

The same thing can be said about fast cars- "All that HP/TQ and WHAT'S the speed limit?!"

It's not a question of what you have access to- but what DON'T you? I use my phone for practically everything.

Really? Stupidity you call it? I am so much more productive throughout the day with a smartphone than I ever was. Email is HUGE in what I do and I always need access to it wherever I may be. I don't use IPhone for work or personal use. I buy it because I have to for work. This one I get refunded in my next invoice.

Not only do you get that, but my Android phones function as full clients and can access my Apache servers. I don't even carry a laptop anymore because I don't need to. Also, the gaming is incredibly engrossing because of these advanced GPUs being stuffed inside of them. The Samsung Galaxy S's GPU can do almost half the triangles of a PS3 GPU. The benefits keep going and going. If all you need is texting and to call someone then it's useless, but it's not stupid.

Id have to agree... I don't own a smart phone, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't like to own one... I think they are really awesome, and for our generation, who spends an ungodly amount of time on their cells, why wouldn't this be a good purchase? Its the same as HD TV... Why go spend more money on an HD TV and HD cable service, when you can just watch the same things on a normal TV... Well, because its awesome and 10x more enjoyable to watch in HD. Just like its more enjoyable to be able to surf the web on a cell phone. I don't know one person who owns an iPhone that doesn't use it religiously.
