I get these little bastards in the same spot on my hand quite frequently when
I'm applying alot of pressure on something (such as when trying to loosen a really
tight bolt on the car). Basically my muscles in my hand tense up super tight
and scrunch together. Does anyone else get them?

I snapped a really sweet pic of it happening with my phone last night when I
was taking my bumper off...it's pretty gross but enjoy!

EDIT: For reference, this is my hand normally...

And this is with a charlie horse...

yeah yeah yeah it happens in both hands so that idea is down the drain lol

I've randomly woken up in the middle of the night with them in my calves before too
That hasn't happened in a long time but when it does holy **** does that hurt!

Supposedly they are caused by a lack of pottasium or something i think...

my friends wife get these. supposively its due to an iron deficency or something like that.

I would recommend a good multivitamin and keep yourself well hydrated. The three essentials that your body may lack - potassium, calcuim, and magnesium. I used to get them and adding a multi-vitamin in conjunction with keeping myself well hydrated made the biggest difference.

As silly as it sounds I would also try stretching the muscles in your hand before working on the car.

i thought a Charlie horse was only in your thigh?? I get crazy toe cramps like that when my feet are cold (which is almost always) My toes curl up and it hurts like hell.

That's a good idea. I mean, I was on a multi-vitamin I was taking in conjunction
with working out, but I am also prone to migraines so I have to be careful
with multi-vitamins

I get them in my toes too! But I didnt want to be the first one to say it lol. I hurts soooo bad! I cant even walk when it happens....but yet I cant stop laughing either.

Mayne I was at acme and got a charlie horse. Man did it hurt like hell, then I could barely walk afterward

As mentioned, appropriate diet supplements and excercise of the particular muscles usually gets rid of charlie horse problems.

For some reason, if I try to stretch my foot so that it points straight down, I get it real bad and my toes curl up and yea that does hurt like hell. However, mine wont go away unless I like push my toes on the floor to straighten them out lol. I dont know its weird. o_O
