my junk
bought last spring, with 55k on it from a friend's girlfriend. it was stock with flowdumpster catback which is still on it. she owned it for a while, and always ran 87 octane in it and never went past like 1/3 throttle because she was scared of it. i bought it, swapped in the torque converter and transmission from my old one (98 formula) that got totalled and i bought it back- so i got my parts back for free. tuned it, bolted some parts on it, tuned it some more, raced it alot, broke it alot. fun car. i've had much enjoyment out of it. mods- all boltons (besides water pump basically) so intake/exhaust/headers/etc... built transmission/ torque converter nitrous drag radials tuning other stuff (if i really wanted to tell the whole story i'd need about 30 minutes to type- so you guys got the short version) it needs a rear badly since the gears are waaaaaaay toooo long now with the new trans, so over the winter i'm going to try and save to get a rear/driveshaft/tq arm/suspension. hopefully it'll be a KILLER with the drivetrain setup. spraying off the trans-brake should be fun. and YES, it is THAT easy to build a ls1. not as expensive as one might think either.

it goes fast in a straight line...
but it is made out of plastic, it creaks and rattles, and people constantly ask me if it is a ws6 . then they rag on me because it is auto. i like driving it and racing it, but i hate working on it. plugs take 1 hour (used to take over 2 hours, but im good at it now) and NOTHING is easy to get to. i cut my hands up checking the transmission fluid for god's sake. i deleted like 40 codes so i don't get a "check engine" light someday it will be fast. till then it is another street car on the bottle. TOOOO easy folks.

update-
got sick of saving for the 3000$ in drivetrain parts that i needed, so i threw another stock rear in the car with better 3.42 gearing. another words, it'll be faster on motor but slower on the n20 (don't wanna break the rear, and it may run out of gear on the n20). in fact it may be a tad slower on both since i won't be launching the car very hard- i'll split this rear in half with one hard launch i'd bet. it is MUCH more fun to drive around though, which at this point is all i really care about. it feels faster and is more responsive with these gears. have some issues to work out, like driveshaft balancing/replacement and tuning issues, and i have to wire up my bottle heater. needs a new set of drag radials and an oil change too, but i got time till the season starts

so i ran the car again at atco saturday. new gears and all. ran the SAME times on motor, 12.0's @ 112mph, low 1.7 60's and one 1.69... so much for gears adding anything. they are needed when i put a cam in the car though so it wasn't a complete waste.
the car ran a little bit better on the juice then it did before. it did consistent "11.50's" i had the nitrous shutting off at 6200rpms and it was cutting out right before the end of the track, not sure really how much it hurt the times if any- but i just ordered 28" drag radials which should get me across the traps at around 6000 to 6100rpms on the juice. hoping it runs "low 11.50's". also- got the driveshaft balanced at Petes's Driveshaft and Welding in trenton. did an awesome job, most of the vibration is gone, the only vibration i get is from the polyurethane mounts now. future mods= saving for a cam and valvetrain- IF nothing breaks in the meantime.

that is one from this past saturday dave milcarek is THE MAN. i have a pic of my car taken by him framed by my computer right now. some other cars i ran against that day, all of which smoked me. i ran in the lanes with the slick cars, so i wasn't too worried about losing a couple runs http://www.davemilcarek.com/030307/p...3-R1%20103.htm he ran 9.90 i believe http://www.davemilcarek.com/030307/p...3-R1%20082.htm he ran 10.0 http://www.davemilcarek.com/030307/p...3-R1%20142.htm ran this porsche on motor. supposedly had work done to it, he got me by about 1.5 carlenghts at the end of the track, but for some reason his time and mph didn't show up on the slip. i ran a 12.1 that pass so he probably ran somewhere around 11.7-11.9 i'd think.
